Paddy Lowe Heading to Merc
According to the twitter mill he's been replaced by Tim Goss with immediate effect. Looks like gardening leave until 2014.

It seems like Mercedes have become the new 'Manchester City'. I wonder how long it will be until Adrian Newey joins their growing list of technical and management personel?

Could somebody draw me an organogram, please? Ross Brown, Niki Lauda, Toto Wolff, Paddy Lowe... Are Geoff Willis and Aldo Costa still there. I'm deeply confused.

When this move was denied to strongly when it first surfaced a few weeks ago I should have realised it was a certainty...

It would seem that Mercedes are going to try and emulate what Ferrari did in the nineties. Only trouble is that Rory Byrne is still at Ferrari.....for now.

OK, so Brawn runs the sporting side, Lowe heads up design, Wolff is in charge of commercial issues, Lauda has an overarching strategic role... And Willis and Costa work under Lowe? Maybe?

This will be an interesting experiment almost to see if that many good brains can get themselves working for the greater good of the team. Can Mercedes be as good as the sum of its parts? They have a lot to do to achieve that.

The Lauda roll? Is it a little like President of the Galaxy? Best make sure he doesn't steel the new car.

a paid year off is always nice, although i dont know what Mclaren will have him do for the rest of the year but if Merc want him to work on their 2014 car they need to make a deal to get him released sooner than jan 1 2014.
i guess he is still their employee so we probably wont hear him say anything about it but if the thing with merc is not a done deal i wonder if he has thoughts or has been approached by another team? |

Maybe Lewis' move is not so silly after all.
Mercedes certainly seem to have got serious and are throwing everything at F1: http://www.pitpass.com/48442-Lauda-Lets-wait-and-see Just keeps growing like topsy! Ferrari are going to wish they had gone with a Resource Restriction Agreement! Last edited by wnut; 26 Feb 2013 at 01:43. |

Lauda insists Lowe is not a threat to Brawn. So I guess Brawn will be gone in the future.
