Which driver will win the 2005 V8Supercar Championship Series?
We have had the AGP as a test session, to help with the form guide.
The Adelaide Clipsal 500 is in a couple of weeks. There is plenty of change, plenty of hype, plenty of hope. So who, among the 34 drivers running in the series at any one time, will win the 2005 V8Supercar Championship? |

From the AGP I would have to say that both Skaife and Ambrose look hard to beat, however there is a voice in my head telling me that it will be Ingall this year. |

GTRMagic, you devil, sitting on the fence again awaiting for the great unwashed to impart great wisdom!!!!
Ambrose - on past form and an impeccable weekend at the AGP - he hardly made a false move for the three races - forget race 2 - that was a lottery HRT is my hope but ..." I want to see the shakeout on the qualifying at the 500 to see if HRT have the car speed in Bartels Road and Dequetteville Terrace. Mike |

I am not fence sitting, more that it would be interesting to hear people's views after the weekend's shakedown... I dont think 2005 will be a lay down misere in any team's direction. I will vote too, but its a view on the team's competitiveness as opposed to brand preference... |

Who did you vote for? If you voted while I was "massaging" the inputs then they may not have registered...

Don't mean to nit-pick GTR but it would be interesting to see Alex Davison win it in both the ART and Dynamik cars as per your list.... My signature shows my pick for next year....
As for this year I reckon Mr Skaife will continue his GP form - car seems good (love seeing him drive past Ambrose like that today!), and he seems a bit more at ease with his role in the team now. |

I think only 3 drivers can win the series.
Mark Skaife Marcos Ambrose Craig Lowndes There is something special about these 3 drivers. I would love to see Ingal or Murphy win the championship but both have had chances in the past and have not come up with the goods. I will wait until a few rounds in before I make a choice. |

I too think there are three drivers that could win the Championship-
Mark Skaife Marcos Ambrose Russell Ingall It's too soon to say but the lead runners much of the time were those three in Melbourne which is all you can take from the meeting. |

I think Ambrose will have a tougher time this year, depends on the team support in the long run, the team could be looking to the future and maybe he might not have the good car all year, its happened before. I think Skaife can’t be written off but I would love to see CL up there. He has shown he can compete at some tracks and get a slow car up the front but he needs to find consistency and patients this year. My wild card for the year is Garth Tander he has shown what he can do with a good car. In reality there are 8 or so drivers who could win if the cards fall right. Anyway my Pick for 2005 is Ingall as I think if he doesnt win this year he never will.

I think we are in for a great year. Unfortunately nothing has changed up the front. Throw in the usuall suspects:
Ambrose Skaife Ingall Maybe Murph Lowndes And then add the rest. DJR to have a shocker, SCAR to be slower than last year, HRT to have great speed and take the fight up, 888 and SBR to be ultra competitive with all four drivers, (I think Ellery will surprise this year), The surprise package may be Whincup after his GP performance. I cant wait for Adelaide. I have my bags packed already. Cant wait for Thursday week when the plaine leaves. BRING IT ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

These three stand out above other V8 drivers-watch Lowndes improve race by race-31st to 6th aint bad in the last race -he only stayed there because he didnt want to push too hard and barbque his wets. He loves pushing and kerb hopping in a competitive car ! go Craig! |
