Silverstone F1 Parking
I've just been offered a couple of tickets for Saturday by my son. I haven't been to a GP for over 30 years. What's the position on parking? Is it necessary to buy parking in advance or do you just rock up and take your position in a field somewhere as used to be the case?

It looks like parking tickets are all sold out, unfortunately, for both on site and park+ride.
You can get direct buses from Milton Keynes or Northampton though, so probably best have a look into them. |

OK, well I've got parking now on the Parkers site just down the road. I've passed it many times when doing the WEC.

And yes, really, all the official parking tickets have been sold. That's all the on-or-close-to-circuit car parks run by Silverstone themselves, plus the M40 (Turweston or Hinton airfield, usually) and M1 (Sixfields Stadium) park and ride areas. |

Looks like a good turnout then.... I have to say, if I couldn't get somewhere to park close by, I'd have bailed. As it happens, parking where I will be could be an advantage on leaving.... perhaps. It was interesting that Silverstone are stating a sell-out on Saturday but agencies still have tickets....

As an aside, I'll be on post 3 (Farm) for the weekend (see photo). Head-on for the starts

It was a long time ago that I lived in the UK but I used to live at Whittlebury. It was a good (but not hard) walk/stroll from Whittlebury into the back of Becketts. The access path into there may have all changed now but could be worth checking out as an alternative place to park and walk in.

I hear they have reserved 20 prime spots right on pit straight for "The Drivers" at race start time.
Bloody favouritism. As always the rich and famous VIPs get special treatment and those who are actually paying get shafted. |
