F1 Challenge Folder Size

My F1C install is now up to 8.90GB due to various mods etc. Im wondering how big yours are ( ) and wther with my folder being so big it's having an effect on basically the FPS.

I wouldnt think it would have an effect on FPS unless there was some serious fragmentation, defrag yer hard drive if you seem to be getting a performance hit and then try it and it should have helped

Hehe, my first PC had 7...

How big is each mod then for F1C?

They must be massive...

Mods are about 600Mb each, virtually new games in their own right!
I'll defrag, good idea thanks Kidzer. I've got my F1C installed all on it's own partition I'll defrag the lot soon.

My 1st computer was 1 gig hd and my speedy 486 laptop is 500mb..

I did a fresh install the other week so it's only at 3.8gb at the minute, it was up around the 9 mark before that though.

Mine is just 2,90 Gb... I deleted all and installed only RH03 and 04 because it was a bloody mess before and I did something and half the mods wouldn't work.

No.

They're the only bit........

I'm not at home so I can't check mine, but I also recently did a fresh install. ATM I only have:-

ETCC Revolution
SO76 (but disappointed with that)
GTR 2002
Nissan Micras (terrific fun - much better than the minis)
F1 74/75
Porsche Carrera Cup (considering my well-known dislike of racing 911 derivatives - this one really rocks!)
FIA GT97 (unfortunately just dull old Porsches ATM)

I think that's it, but I've got virtually all of the available mods stored, except the 356s and any of the other F1 mods.......

My onw big bugbear with some of these mods is the pain in the neck way you have to install tracks in some of them. If only they all had the comprehensive launchers that ETCC Rev and the PCC have. A press of a button and minor amendment to the GDB and you're away. I'm still trying to get the bloody Le Mans track back into a couple of these mods - I did it once, but I just can't seem to get it right now!

Its a pity a central track folder couldnt have been planned early on for the mod teams. I'm sure most are duplicated for all mods.

So what the GTR2002 conversion like to drive compared to say SCC? I'm missing driving the turbo porsches. ALMS GT versions arent quite the same!

About 3 gig at the moment, just got the ETCC, BTCC and F1C on it.

Might dump ETCC and BTCC for RH2004 though.

3.27 gig.

But my download storage folder for the mods is another 4 gig. I'll be burning those to DVD soon to free up the space.

Downloading and installing is one thing, playing is another, so it's rather quite pointless me having them, however at least I've got them.

I hate the narrow track/grooved tyre cars eugh they make me cringe how you can't throw them around AT ALL. I'm totally pathetic at driving and really struggle against anyone online.
I really enjoy the 1994, 1995 and 1997 cars though, they're very good fun in my opinion and much more like real racing machines.

The turbo mod is good but just bit too grippy (doing 1:45's at spa, hmmm...)

Just brought RD2 in town today, £5, we'll see...

It looks like my F1C install will be permanently 0 bytes for a long while. I just looked on Amazon for a copy of it, and they were only selling used, from £43

Mine is now 6.2 gigs, but I'm gonna get WGTS this week, and if I don't like it, it will drop down to 0 bytes too. I'm now pre-occupied with GTR, and need the HD-space
