Poor Lavin...
You might remember that i posted a topic a while ago about "blossoming of lavin?"
Well a HA HA HA cus he qualified P2 Unfortunately enough...he did hold up 55, 17, 6, 7, 34. Lavin is particularly my favorite driver...i just wished that he would have stayed up there. Perhaps he wasn't aggressive enough in turn 1..? And sorry i haven't been on too much...my computer has indigestion :P |

First off welcome drewdawg727. Next, relax. Third, I remember your thread and if you want to discuss Lavin that's great. Some around here would prefer to talk about his driving skills and others prefer to talk about his kewt ripply muscles (excuse me while I go throw up). I beleive 99.9% prefer the dirving skills part.
Lavin placed P2 last week and good for him. Personally I would place this performance in the cliche' "even a blind squirrel finds an acorn now and again" catagory. The best driver in the field? Not a chance. Has he blossomed? Not yet. Will he? Maybe, and now is the time for him to prove it. You can't ask for a much better team behind you than the one he has. My feeling is obviuosly that he is no more than a feild filler at present and lord knows we need them right now. Hopefully, his current team can coach him into being a front runner but a single P2 qualifier doesn't put him there yet. Last edited by Flatspot; 30 Jul 2004 at 03:07. |

Lavin may indeed turn out to be another Jourdain - In CART before he's ready and takes a long time to develop into a good driver.
drewdawg727 - May I ask why Lavin is your favorite? |

Happy bday to Lavin.
To answer your question i don't know why i like Lavin. I guess i'm going for the cool names. He has a nice one. Funny to pronounce. I sound kind of childish...don't i... I don't really like people like Bourdais and Tracy who dominate every race. Once people win enough they become very arrogant and expectant. Which kind of explains Tracy. That's why i like people like Lavin, people who show strength but can also have weakness. Tagliani is another great example. |

Great answer, Drewdawg.
That's why my favourite team is Dale Coyne's. That, and Dale's personality. Especially Dale's personality. |

It was a driver error because Lavin spun all by himself.

Indeed he did.
He's not great - he may get better, he may not. But everyone needs fans. |

Lavin is also my favorite Champ Car driver. He's such a great guy as well.
I have noticed he's a guy with a very bad luck. Hopefully we can start seeing good results soon. Too bad he spun at Vancouver. I was really expecting this race to be a good one for him. Maybe for next time And happy birthday to him! |
