Trans-Tasman Tourer's

How about a Trans-Tasman touring car championship. It could be run to Schedule S/Super Production rules and for example have 4 races in NZ and 4 in australia. SP/Sched S would be a good formula because NZ already has this kind of formula and if aussie teams can afford super tourers it won't be too hard for Morris to get a BMW or auger an alfa.

Hmmm, there have only ever been two teams contemplating building super production car in Oz, and neither car has surfaces. TOCA has gone with the Future Tourers, which is fair enough, and those who wish to keep plodding around in STs may do so...

Besides, as said elsewhere, we already have GTP, whic essentially is a form of Super Production these days anyways..

Great idea, but I think only a handful of teams would consider travelling to Aussie because of the cost. Apart from about 3 teams, Castrol BMW, TKR and Geoff Short's Husquvana team, most are running on very little funds. It something I would like to see happen eventually though. We have had trans tasman FH, Super Truck challenges and more, so why not Touring Cars. It is a shame that the Aussie series is through the summer, as is ours, if both series didnt clash perhaps a few Aussie teams may consider having a bit of fun in the off season and doing our series for fun, and then after time a trans tasman series may eventuate. well, wishful thinking

We could always have a Darwin Series - a wet and dry one - Summer in Oz (the Dry) and Winter in NZ (the Wet)

As long as one of the races is at Taupo!
