2011 NASCAR Sprint Cup Fantasy Championship | Entries & Changes
The NASCAR Sprint Cup Fantasy Championship has been resurrected for a new run in 2011, just like a Pheonix (no intended reflection of how the #09 will run this year though).
Please note below the rules and regulations carefully, as there are a few differences. All detail has been taken from the Jayski website in terms of the teams intending to compete and initial intended drivers. Prices also reflect whether they intend on running a full season. Please note the top 35 Owners points rule which is also in effect within this championship, and whether or not your cars are guaranteed a start in the first 5 races etc. 1. Cars You can hire up to 3 cars to run as part of your team, provided that their combined salary comes in below the $1,800,000 Salary Cap. Here is how much they cost, along with the anticipated driver: $1,300,000 #11 Denny Hamlin #29 Kevin Harvick #48 Jimmie Johnson $1,100,000 #16 Greg Biffle #17 Matt Kenseth #99 Carl Edwards $1,000,000 #14 Tony Stewart #18 Kyle Busch #24 Jeff Gordon #33 Clint Bowyer $800,000 #1 Jamie McMurray #5 Mark Martin $700,000 #22Kurt Busch #31Jeff Burton #39Ryan Newman $600,000 #00 David Reutimann #4 Kasey Kahne #20 Joey Logano #42 Juan Pablo Montoya #43 AJ Allmendinger #83 Brian Vickers #88 Dale Earnhardt Jnr $500,000 #2 Brad Keselowski #6 David Ragan #9 Marcos Ambrose #27 Paul Menard #56 Martin Truex Jnr $400,000 #7 Robby Gordon #21 Trevor Bayne #78 Regan Smith $300,000 #09 Bill Elliot #13 Casey Mears #15 Michael Waltrip #34 Travis Kvapil #36 Dave Blaney #38 David Gilliland #47 Bobby Labonte #87 Joe Nemechek $100,000 #10 Terry Labonte #46 JJ Yeley #60 Todd Bodine #66 Michael McDowell #90 Scott Riggs #95 David Starr #97 Kevin Conway Other Cars If any other car not listed above starts on an OVAL, they will be valued at $100,000. Road Courses Some Real World Teams may enter specialist drivers in some cars. Changes are allowed for these races as below, and drivers announced closer to the date of these 2 races may attract a change in the team value. This will be advised a few rounds prior. 2. Hiring & Firing As Owner/Manager, you are permitted to sack any or all of your teams in the lead-up to a round, and replace them - so long as you don’t blow the salary cap or 3-car limit. To sack/hire a car, post here expressing your disappointment in your ex-employee(s), and your hopes for your new driver(s). You will only be charged a team change if your team is different at the next round, so there is scope to change your mind if need be. The deadline for making changes is MIDNIGHT THURSDAY UTC prior to the race, to remain fair to all of our international competitors. That is early to late afternoon Thursday for our Nth American Managers, Midnight in the UK (Daylight savings pending), and mid morning Friday for our Pacific Managers. However, you can only do this 3 times during the season, including before the Road Courses. Road Courses If you wish, you may use one of your 3 allocated team changes to hire teams that contain some of the specialist Road Course “Ringers”, drivers that appear for Road Courses only. Your Team line-up must still fit inside the $1.8M salary cap. You will automatically revert to your normal Team lineup after each Road Course event, should you choose this option. Note that reverting back to your pre-road course lineup DOES NOT count as a team change ie you can do this twice – once for each Road Course, and 1 other time throughout the season. The price list for Road Course “Ringer” drivers and their cars will be released once we know who they are and what cars they will be driving. 3. Points: Points are the same as the real series. Whatever a team car scores towards owners points at each round in real life is what that team will receive here, including penalties. If you notice that your team hasn't scored as many points as you think they should have (or more than they should have), there are a couple of likely reasons for this: 1) My maths, like Antro’s, stinks; 2) I missed your driver change; 3) There was a penalty added/withdrawn later in the year. Either way, let me know and I'll fix your score so its 100% correct. 4. Other Things You Should Know As Team Owner: - THE CHASE IS NOT INCORPORATED INTO THIS CHAMPIONSHIP!!!! - The Duels and the All Stars Race are not part of this Championship - One team per person, per year. - You don’t have to use all $1.8 million, but DO NOT GO OVER BUDGET!!! You will be suitably punished (ie. disqualified from the round) if I discover any creative bookkeeping. - A team can be chosen by more than one Manager - these guys are consummate professionals and are able to run 54 cars simultaneously. - Points are the same as the real series. If things don't seem to add up, feel free to point out my mathematical ineptitude. - Round results and championship standings will be posted here following the conclusion of each round. - After the results have been posted, you can report on your team’s performance (or lack thereof). Show us how good you are at distributing propaganda. 5. Team Announcements: Once you’ve picked your team line-up, give your team a name, announce some sponsors, liveries, grid girls/guys, mascots, overseas technical partners and any other stuff you can think of, and of course your manufacturer of choice, then post here giving a detailed description of the copious quantities of hide your team will kick in the forthcoming season. However, to aid with my brain computation, please stick with the car numbers I have listed above (or otherwise if not noted). To make it easy for me, could you please condense the propaganda into this sort of form following your press release: Quote: NAME: Flinstone Motorsport SPONSORS: Bedrock Mining DRIVERS: #001 Fred #003 Wilma #006 Pebbles MANUFACTURER: Sandstone Inc Entries are open as of now, so start issuing those press releases! There are a few changes this year, so make sure you've got them noted down Your team can be altered without penalty until the Thursday prior to the Daytona 500. Comments/suggestions/queries are more than welcome, either here or via PM. |

Barclays & Better Business Bureau Busch Brothers Racing
BBBBBBR is a 2 driver team aiming to simply have the most amount of B's in their name in NASCAR. BBBBBBBBBBBBR features Kyle Busch (who will undoubtedly crash out being over-exuberant) and Kurt Busch who will probably moan most of the day then inexplicably be near the front, like a ninja! The #18 includes a UK sponsor, odd seeing as NASCAR chose a PPM channel for UK viewing... NAME: Barclays & Better Business Bureau Busch Brothers Racing SPONSORS: Barclays Car Insurance (#18) & Better Business Bureau (#22) DRIVERS: #18 Kyle Busch ($1,000,000) #22 Kurt Busch ($700,000) MANUFACTURER: RCR Chevrolet Impalas Go awkward thaksgiving! No I'm not taking this overly seriously! Also GTR; great minds think alike! That was my original squad until I remembered that Ambrose is less than stellar on ovals... |

Given you will now have a 3 round deficit, i'll wave that you missed the deadline for this weekend. So you can cheer for Mssrs Stewart, Ambrose and Mears this weekend... |

This will be the case if there are changes etc within other teams and the result becomes the same. Also, FieldoDreams mentions price changes within his post on team restructure. To be clear, prices won't change other than if there is a driver change for the Road Courses (and i consider the driver to be worth more on those Road Courses than the regular season driver on ovals). If a team suddenly starts doing well (like Furniture Row) their price does not change other than as noted above. |

Rule Update 2011 #2
Rule Update 2011 #2
As mentioned in the opening rules and regulations post, the below affects the cost for the road course race drivers Road Courses If you wish, you may use one of your 3 allocated team changes to hire teams that contain some of the specialist Road Course “Ringers”, drivers that appear for Road Courses only. So, again sourcing team/driver data from Jayski's website, the following will attract a premium if you change to these drivers after Michigan on the 19th of June and before the Thursday night before Sonoma, and cost as per the below list: $1,300,00 #9 Marcos Ambrose #14 Tony Stewart #42 Juan Pablo Montoya $500,000 #7 Robby Gordon #TBA Boris Said potentially #51(formerly 09) #TBA Sam Hornish (if he runs) $400,000 #TBA Ron Fellows (if he runs) #TBA Jan Magnussen (if he runs) This list may be updated if there are further announcements by teams in the next couple of weeks. If you have any these drivers in your team at Michigan, they will not attract the increase in price (ie if you add Ambrose to your team between now and Michigan, he will remain at $500,000. If you add Ambrose between Michigan and Sonoma he will cost $1,300,00. You can change now for safety, but then run the risk of getting less points in the races before Sonoma). DO NOT GO OVER THE SALARY CAP OF $1,800,000 If you change your team before Sonoma, this will count as one of your 3 allowable changes for the season. If you change drivers at this time, you have the option of reverting back to your original line up after Sonoma and before Daytona the following weekend, which will NOT constitute 1 of your 3 allowable changes for the season. If you do change prior to Sonoma, please let me know whether you wish to revert back to original lineup after Sonoma. Driver costs will revert back to their original costs after Sonoma. These scenarios will also take affect for Watkins Glen, however prices may change for other teams depending on ringers being announced and I will update accordingly. |
