Race sim including British tracks

Hey,

does anyone know of any decent games that contain British tracks such as Brands, Silverstone, Snetterton, Thruxton, Donnington etc.

Want the game just to learn basic layout of tracks for track days and the like.

Cheers,
Rich

rFactor has most of those tracks available as mods (Thruxton isn't). Silverstone ships with it (the track is Silverstone but it's been PES-style renamed to Northamptonshire or something like that).

There is a version of Thruxton for GTR2 but it's a conversion from TOCA 2 Touring Cars (via other things). I think there are GTR2 versions of Silverstone, Brands and Snett - Donington ships wit it.

rFactor has more variety for cars available, so for general amusement and those tracks I'd plump for it rather than GTR2.

One word of warning with rFactor though - it comes with some good tracks and cars but the thing is built around mods. There are some good mods around but some are dire. If you don't want pot luck the hall of fame ones on rFactor central are pretty good : Trucks (five tonnes of brown underpants), Lupo cup (small cars, big fun), 1979 F1 (very hard to drive well and with ground effect) are personal favourites of mine plus the F1 1988 mod (Last year of the turbos) which isn't in the hall of fame.

GTR2 has plenty of downloadable tracks via sites like nogrip; Brands, various Silverstone configs, Snetterton, Rockingham, various Oulton configs, Cadwell Park... Goodwood... Top Gear....

and stuff like Thruxton/Knockhill as part of various BGT/TC add-on packs

I run GT and TC races on them all, conversion quality varies but there are some beauties out there.

I admin on a sim racing league and we are currently running a series which uses only British tracks past and present in rFactor. The second season will use more and cover the entire British Isles. All are welcome to come and see what we have on offer here. All the tracks we use are checked and linked from the site. I am missing a couple of tracks and the one I am desperate to get is Croft, I have heard there is a version somewhere but I cannot find it. If anyone has croft for rFactor i would be gratefull (for my personal colection not league)
