o- A FIA F3 champion gets as many points as a FIA WEC LMP1 champion.
o- A FIA F3 5th place finisher gets as many points as an IndyCar 5th place finisher.

o- A FIA F4 3rd place finisher gets as many points as a DTM 4th place finisher.

Rating GP3 more highly than Super Formula seems wrong. SF cars are the fastest single seaters outside F1.

As you are accumulating points over seasons then the F2 or Indycar driver will be up there with enough points, but it gives the opportunity for those winning in the lower ladder series to get a Superlicence quickly.

Not that I'd have this system at all, but as we've got it, I think it is there or thereabouts.

its all about forcing wealthy young drivers into the official FIA series so their wealth can readily identified by the F1 teams and then have it extracted from them!!

I think that it might be the diversity of drivers in the series as well as the speed of the cars

...The FIA have made it too much towards racing in high cost championships. It should not be like this. Why don't we just return to a time before points or just say no U18 and leave it at that?

Yes, and I disagree with that. F1 drivers should be experienced and successful in junior formula racing.

There has only been one pilot eligible down here, Jamie Whincup, and he started in Formula Ford..

It is just hard to see the point of the SuperLicence system if you overcome almost impossible odds to win what you need and still miss...

Sorry GTRMagic, but there is only one guy down there and he is much better suited to F1 than JW, and really is sad to see him not make it to F1. A real talent that ran out of money/oppotunity and had to head back home to NZ. Richie Stanaway. If you've followed his career so far, which included Formula Renault 3.5, GP3 and GP2, you'd see that Stanaway is a much better talent for F1 than Whincup is/was. A shame to not see Stanaway make it all the way to F1.

That wasn't the eligibility criteria though. 3 Supercar titles in 3 years got Mr Whincup to 39 points. And despite the best of intentions, he still wouldn't qualify even if he wanted to!
