Mike Jordan BTCC
Anyone notice Team Eurotech are entering one of the title winning Team Halfords Honda's in 2006, Mike Jordan is gonna race the car himself. A major coup i'd say for the series.
Possibly be good for the future of his son Andrew Jordan to get in to the BTCC. |

Is already mentioned in the BTCC 2006 News, Rumours, Entries... topic.
But he's a nice addition to the field. |

I've got to ask why Mike has decided to lower his standards.

Exactly what I was thinking, does seem strange as he is far more talented than the majority of the field.
Only thing I can think is it could act as a stepping stone for his son the following year or maybe John Guest like the BTCC television coverage compared to say various GT Championships. |

I wouldn't say it is lowering his standards - just a change in direction.
I bet it was a case of been there and done that with the GTs, and nothing else could give them quite the same coverage what with the tv. I am looking forward to seeing what John Guest will bring to the series as they have always had a lot of guests at the GTs. |

My perception is that Mike Jordan is after a new challenge, armed with a decent car, he is a positive addition to the championship.

I think this is great news, another new entry cannot be bad at all, and if he wants to bring his John Guest sponsorship with him (which I assume he will) all the better!
I agree Les, I don't think he’s lowered his standards at all, everyone seems to be falling away from British GT's at the moment, but I couldn't think of a better place to move to in Britain then the BTCC! |

I've always seen the BTCC as being the premiere touring car series in Britain though in recent years I admit, it may have lacked a bit of depth and lost it's prestige?

It's still got live TV coverage of every round - which the GTs don't.
BTCC is household motorsport, GT is for the diehards |

Ive not bothered with BTCC for many years, Having Mike in the BTCC I will defintly pop down to Brands to see him race if I have no clashes with Legends Cars etc. Was great watching Mike in the V8's, amazing car control and some nice scraps with Stevie Hodgson, Barry Lee etc ....

The BTCC is certainly more mainstream than GTs, and should be better value for his sponsors even if the car is only midfield. If he's really as good as some of you think, then in the previous year's title winning car he may challenge for the odd podium. It's great to see a few new privateer teams with good resources entering.

I would have to say that I think Mike will most defintly get podiums. Never seen such a cool calm and relaxed driver. Many years of setting a range of cars up he will be able to give ample feedback to the team. Thing I like most about Mike in the V8's is he was an extremly sporting driver.

I would have thought Andrew is in his mind too, for the future, and a great way to keep John Guest on board!

I would say sponsor, although the BTCC is really poor at the moment, it has fantastic TV coverage.

The sponsors might have wanted more exposure, but it could be that Mike simply wanted a new challenge.

Andrew Jordon managed a win today in the Ginetta race, showed a lot of promise, some excellent lines taking.

Was nice to see Andrew sporting his dads famous 77 number and paint scheme used on some of Mikes previous cars.
