Joest Racing
Ok ..... Joest will supposedly be taking over the Lambo project for next year and plans a big test programe . Thats him finished with the ALMS for the forseeable future . He will get that Lambo to work and when he gets it to LeMans I hope that its car number 7 too !

Won't Reiter Engineering be involved at all then anymore. Being as they developed most of the car, now it looks like it will be taken away from them. It didn't go particularly great at Monzo though did it. Joest taking over might be a blessing if it all goes ahead.

Im not sure if Reiter will be involved or not but im sure they will have a car in the FIA-GT come next year . It didnt do very well at Monza and it wasnt even legal as it had a lot of the R8 rear end bolted onto it for testing purposes . I think it will be great to get Joest Racing into the FIA-GT championship , that will certainly raise the game some . Just Imagine who the drivers might be !!!
Kristensen-Capello-Smith-Pirro-Biela to name a few possibilities !!! Wooo Hoooo |

Is this confirmed, or just speculation?
It is, of course, possible that both Joest and Reiter will run Lambos, as the series organisers don't want factory teams who won't sell cars to anyone else. |

It's been reported that Joest will develop the Lambo over the winter, not run it in FIA GT next year. That hasn't been decided yet. There's still the R10 under construction, but it looks like that will be delayed until 2005 as the R8 should still have it's way with the competition next year given no new manufacturer involvement.
So will Audi Sport be taking over the development of the Lambo motor? That seemed to be the worst part of the car at Monza. And I wouldn't characterize Audi Sport helping Reiter as " tak[ing it] away from them." Reiter asked Audi Sport for help. It seems that now they are finally getting what they wanted. I do wonder what Joest will be racing next year. |

Interesting news. Of course running GTS at LM, precludes them from using number 7, which would be given to LMP teams. They would be using 50-6? numbers for GTS.

So what do we reckon? A Joest effort in the DTM next year - Biela and Pirro? - then DTM and the LMES in 2005, with the new Audi prototype?
I suppose the very logical argument being bandied about at Ingolstadt is that the new prototype might as well be delayed until 2005, as Audi will probably win Le Mans next year anyway, whether with Goh, Champion or Joest. |

From what I've read any DTM program for Joest would be just something to keep them occupied before the new Audi arrives.
