Heeltoe6 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
See a stroy atSpeedvision

Fuel cell was 1 liter over the 100L limit. That has gotta hurt, especially since it was a factory part and tested as 99L capacity, but with the heat, expasnion increases the size. That's a tough one, for sure.

Club Arnage is also saying that the second place car was DQ'd because of some irregularity about their wheels. So the guys who almost didn't show up for the podium at all are going to end up the winners. But what a way to win!

as a follow up to this story I found this at the Autosprt site

Sportscar technical veteran Tony Dowe has resigned from Dick Barbour Racing, the top GT team in the American Le Mans Series, after the team's disqualification from class victory at Le Mans. The Englishman was responsible for measuring the fuel tank of the winning car prior to the race, according to team owner Dick Barbour, but the car was subsequently removed from the results for the tank being oversize.

The team claimed that the ordinary rigours of 24-hour racing, added to the unusually high temperatures at Le Mans led to the tank being found to be oversize. Nevertheless, Dowe has voluntarily stepped down from the team.

"Tony offered his resignation, and I accepted it," said Barbour. Dowe's replacement will be Rod Benoist, formerly of TWR

Even though this was over a month ago, I still think it sucks. Those damn tech inspectors should not have DQ'd that car. They should have taken into account that they beat the opposition on speed and not on any advantage the fuel tank gave them (which it didn't, since they pitted the same no. of times everyone else did). And poor Mr. Dowe has taken the fall for that.

We have got to get the Men in Suits out of the business of deciding races. We had to get rid of them in hockey after one miserable year of waiting five minutes to see if a goal was a goal or not. We have GOT to get rid of them in racing. I honestly don't believe there is that much cheating going on.
