Team CAM Mitsubishi withdraw...

...totally! Strange decision as they say its down to scoring badly. Toni Roukonen should be in a BTCTouring car, now hes got nothing. But they have said they will develop the car this year and compete next year. God help us if Pug goes along the same route!

A shame. They looked quite good pre-season.

Too many electrical glithes apparently! Like ABG never really got both cars running. Shame as Ruokonen could have challeneged for the title had the car been competitive and it was something different too. This ain't gonna help my fantasy BTCC team either as he was my third driver!

Toni Ruokonen into a spare Pug 406 Coupe lying around? Wishful Thinking! However, he was as good as Dan Eaves last year so he certainly deserves a chance at the BTCT. Hopefully next year!

Peugeot and their sponsors insisted on an English driver, which is why Roukonen never got the drive.

Shame about CAM, they were finally starting to make some progress. What you have to remember is that although the Carisma was a race winner in Holland it had never run on BFGs and the team had not setup data for any of the UK tracks. In the end though it all came down to the usual sponsorship/funding story.

With luck they should be back next year.... watch this space

shame rather liked the carisma!! oh well another one bites the dust it will be interesting to see how many cars make the grid at Donny!! we are getting to that silly season stage where maufacturers committ and or pull out lets hope some light is shed over the next couple of weeks. Because sadly like super touring i think production despite the best racing we have seen this year looks to be dying also!!

It is a shme that they had to leave due to carbonate problems as they were probably the best team in the BTCC. The drivers will now feel upset now as they have no driver and that means no money to pay the bills.

Of course it is. The jacket is now a highly prized collector's item.

That reminds me. As I'm not judging it that means I get to enter as well. Hmmm, thinking hat time.

I might want to see Mitsubishi in the BTCC and I would like to see the Lancer Evo raced against Vauxhall and Pegueot.

While watching the 1991 review today I noticed that Mitsubishi finished in the manufacturers championship. Did they have to enter it[the manufacturers champ.] then like today?
