Rallycross in the South-West

I've been pondering the lack of rallycross anywhere near the southwest, I think think the closest place is Pembrey but there's nowhere actually in the area. I know there are some rallycross drivers around there: Alan Tapscott definitely is and I think Pat lives there now.

The question is, are there any venues around the area that could be used? Could they do a Blyton and use one of the many airfields around, or would an existing circuit be willing to accomodate rallycross? I know it's a long way from some people, but so are Knockhill and Anglessey - if it's a national championship, surely we should expect some travelling and all areas should be covered?

Isnt There Enough Rallycross In The South Considering How Many Trips To Pembrey And Lydden We Are Expecting Next Year In The Brc

North West could do with a circuit also. *wonders about the 3 tracks being built currently*

North West? How about the old club/sprint circuit at Aintree? or Oulton park? Would be good to see an Anglesey replacement.

Oulton Park would be brilliant. It's only twenty minutes away.

There are a few in the south-east, it's true, but that's still a surprisingly long way from the south-west. I tried to convince a mate to service at Lydden, but we worked out that from where he is in south Devon it would be at least 5 hours. That's a long way in anyone's book, I reckon. I see what you're saying, but to some people, Pembrey isn't that south.

It's all a matter of perspctive, I suppose.

It takes me 4hrs in a Car from mid-devon, Lydden is a trek but I cant see anything else coming up in the south.
