New Die Cast Models?

I have a question. Why have their been no new BTCC Die Cast models since 99? There were no Vauxhalls from 99 released and no cars from 2000 released! I've heard nothing about any 2001 BTCC cars either, so why no new cars? the Onyx range was one of the best as their cars are the most detailed, I want some new BTCC Models! [note, this is my 500th post! ]

Onyx did intend to release the 1999 BTCC Vectras and even issued catalogue numbers but the models were never produced. Don't know how true it is but the story I heard was that the mould got damaged and there was little point in repairing/replacing it as there wasn't the demand to justify it and by then they had already decided not to produce any 2000-spec models.

Don't know if there are any plans to produce 2001-onwards BTCC models. Again I doubt there is sufficient demand at present. Onyx do produce some good WRC models, the Peugeot 206 is especially nice. Hmmm, perhaps that answers another thread as well.

I carn't see thier being any diecast 01 BTC models for sometime, especially with the rules only being adopted here. Maybe R/C bodies as you can run them off fairly cheaply.

It would be great to have a Astra, Pug and lovely MG though.

I thought I read somewhere that Onyx had gone out of production completely? If that's true, who's likely to be licenced to produce touring car die casts?
