So, does it really mater who will be the runner up? I don't think so since both GReen and Piquet did a good job this year.

Next year, Hitech may be the team to beat - can't be just coincidence that they're doing so well in the last races.

By the way, Will Power had a serious accident and is in hospital. First quali had to be interrupted for 20 minutes so that he could be removed from the car.

In the beginning of the second session Piquet had an accident and partially damaged the car. He was in the last positions, but with 7 minutes remaining the mechanics got the car ready for him. In the final attempt, he set pole again.

Still, all this effort and the two poles may not make any difference. Green is in the top 5 in both races, and 30 points clear. He will probably finish second in the championship.

What happened in race 2 then?? Run in 2 parts, it seems. Yound Piquet seems pretty much totally on song, doesn't he?

Does anyone else thing aggregate races are useless? Either call it early, or restart the race with fewer laps.

you couldn't call it after 4 laps. in this case it would have been better to use the finishing order after 4 laps as a grid since there hadn't really been time to build up any huge gaps between cars to make it worth doing aggregate.

in principle aggregate is a good idea after about 10 laps. if a guy is running away with the lead then he can keep that lead whereas otherwise he'd lose it.

With 4 laps gone (depending on total) id eithre go with your idea of restart order as of then, or redo the grid entirely.

Race results - Race 2

Green finished in third and is the runner up - congrats to him. I hope he stays for another season in F3. If he wins next year, I see a future similar to Jenson' for him.

Also congrats to Nelsinho who had a great season despite the fact that his team didn't know most circuits.

lewis was having a good weekend till the first race. he ran wide at paddock hill (seemed like he was driving it like a renault, he was carrying way too much speed into it), and according to autosport got himself a slow puncture. silly boy.

second race i don't know why he went badly in qually but in the race he got taken out by his billy teammate who couldn't overtake a very slow car without binning it, and taking out lewis by accident. apparently.

top drive by asaro. also good from salignon, but one has to wonder whether his massive improvement in form has come too late...

from a next year point of view, if all is well funding and backing wise, i look forward to a danny watts/jamie green/nelson piquet/lewis hamilton title fight.

I'm glad to see Billy Asaro running at the front. He's had such a miserable season, first with the ADR mess, then with the Opel (though they're more competitive than in the early races). I wonder if he'll be back next year. With a good car from the start of the season, he could be a winner.

Have to admit Nelson Jnr looks the business all weekend. As for aggregate scores etc, this is all covered in the rules for the series and therefore cannot be changed ad hoc.

Hmmm... talk about damning with faint praise!

Racing on Sunday was great - I don't know how many of you were there, but I hope you enjoyed it as much as we at dotdotdotcomma did.

Though it pains me to say it, Piquet really showed his speed at Brands, and thoroughly deserved his two victories, disappearing off into the distance so we could concentrate on more important matters...

Most importantly, of course, for us, was where The Next Jackie Stewart(tm), Andrew Thompson was going to finish, and we were very pleased to see him consolidate his improved qualifying positions with a 7th in the first race.

Jamie Green caused considerable excitement by not finishing race 1, leaving all to play for in defending his championship 2nd place in race 2 - and that was a little bit exciting - more than assisted by van der Merwe riding shotgun for him. What a nice bloke the South Efrican is, eh?

We were up at Druids when Ernesto and Steven had the tussle that secured the Venezuelan's Scholarship title, and I must say before anyone else questions it, that from our vantage point, it certainly looked like a racing incident, and I really can't believe that Ernesto (even though he can be a little, er, rash at times), yea verily, I can't believe that even Ernesto would have deliberately run Steven off the track by virtually driving over his T-Sport, while in the middle of a pack of about half a dozen other racing cars. Mind you, I don't blame Steven Kane for looking more than a bit p*ssed off, and he's certainly a driver with a great future behind him, as Murray Walker would say.

Talking of which, Damon Hill was knocking around in the Paddock. Top bloke. And James Rossiter and Susie Stoddart too, adding fuel to the speculation that they'll be driving in British F3 next year*, which can't be a bad thing.

*Not Damon, obviously.

i'd agree that ernesto wouldn't do something like that on purpose, he's simply not that sort of person. just like any 'firey' driver, well like any driver, the concequences of an action doesn't enter his mind when he's doing it. in fact if it was anyone else in his way he'd do the same. it just so happened that it was steven kane.

non-sensical defending aside, i do feel sorry for steven kane, but call it karma. you get what you give. in the end everything comes back to you... he drove well and consistently but... he should have won. we'll see how he manages against next year's 'a' class.

Jonny Apex should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Piquet was absolutely bloody awesome and made the rest look very ordinary. Within five laps of the restart of race two he was length of the pit straight in front ...

The Viso/Kane incident - why did Viso back off going up the hill to Druids and then accelerate again when Kane had got half his car past him on the outside? A shame it had to end like that, particularly as Viso, whose front wing was hanging on by a thread, wasn't going to beat Kane on outright pace ...

I think Hamilton's crash was very unfortunate. In the first race he ballsed up and admitted as much. In the second race, it appears Graves had become tangled up in some sort of incident with Keohane at Clearways and Lewis, coming through from last on the grid (after all his times had been excluded in qualifying) was unlucky enough to be in the wrong place at the wrong time ...

Sorry, I think that's more than a bit harsh on Tor graves. If anyone was the F3 billy it was Hamilton, and unsurprisingly Keohane was there in the mix as well. To say anyone in the current F3 grid is a billy is rude and ignorant. At that level they're all compentent, and particluarly Graves, who may not be a front runner but he's more or less on the pace and a quiet unassuming guy.

Hamilton was in too deep this weekend. Like Piquet he folds under pressure to perform, and at 17/18 it's unsurprising as they're still kids really. There's a lot heaped on those two young sets of shoulders, and I think Hamilton's crash just highlighted what a serious and brave game it is, so none of the boys out on that track should be described as billys.

Off the circuit there has been a young life lost from the paddock in a serious accident and it's not something that should be taken lightly or as an opportunity to slag someone off. Sorry, it's just something I have particularly strong feelings on.

everything's relative. and as for bringing personalities into what happens on the track i don't think that's an issue.

A member of one of the F3 teams was killed in a road accident. I'm not saying any more about that.

I just don't agree with slagging any of the F3 drivers off on ability or merit. I think they've all done a sterling job in a very competitive field this year. And I can't stand the extreme bias of hamilton fans. He's good, but not a superstar as his performance showed all weekend. He came off in amongst the pack of 'billys' because that's where he qualified. End of story.

I think after that little speach Sgrok, your very ignorant to call Lewis a billy. He was taken to hospital with concussion yesterday. He was competative in an F3 car after very few tests, quicker than most in the field! I am biased cos he is my best mate but forgetting that he IS that damn good and everyone else recognises that! You can say what you like but i will fight you to the death about his talents..
