I thought they'd bought a Courage C65 to contest the LMES. I notice they are NOT entered for the Spa LMES round. Anyone advise whats happening!

I don't think he's in Australia. At the moment, the GT scene here isn't worthy of his time...

The Courage C65 will be the one of Frank Mountain - not CIRTEK |

I think that the distinction between the two is that the Russian Age cars are entered under the name of a sponsor (similar to the Triple 8 cars being entered under the Egg banner in the BTCC a few years back), leading to the presence of the Vasiliev and Fomenko in the driving line up.

Yeah, Russian Age Racing was just a sponsorship deal with the Russian government providing the lion's share of the funds for the FIA-GT program. That's why Cirtek cars ran as Convers Racing in LMES, because Convers Bank was their chief sponsor there.
In the final 2 rounds of the FIA-GT series the money came from Aston Martin Middle East and Gulf Merchants Group. I wouldn't be surprised to see that collaboration continue. Currently in Brazil the car is run in conjunction with Piquet Sports. Rob Schirle is incredibly adept at finding partnerships for his team to run a car under. |
