I'll ask the obvious question - who is Brendan and what happened to him yesterday?
Best wishes to him anyway! |

Would that be Brendan Murphy who also marshals at Brands Hatch?

News of any marshal being injured is bad news, regardless of their experience or the circumstances.
I have no knowledge of either but would still like to wish Brendan a very speedy and full recovery from what sounds like a nasty incident. All the very best, Stuart. |

I spoke to the rescue unit that saw you fall (Phoenix rescue). They called for the red flag that enabled them to get across the track to you. From the mobile phone picture that was taken of you a moment before you fell it looked as if you fell around 8 feet or so. In future dont try surfing out of the boot of a hatchback when its being lifted
Having broken a leg at a motorsport event in 2005 I would always say that if you are going to injure yourself then do it at a race meeting. You know you'll have a rescue unit and doctor with you within a minute. Get well soon mate. Last edited by Mike Kelly 1; 26 Mar 2007 at 21:34. |

Always concerning to hear of a marshal being injured, although I'm gathering it was an 'operational problem' rather than a racing accident. The injuries described sound as though they could be serious, so let me express the hope that they're not and wish Brendan a full and rapid recovery.

On behalf of Brendan......
Hello! Thank you all for your kind words, it is very much appreciated. Just to let you know that I have been to the hopsital (mental) and they said there was nothing wrong! Luckily I do not have to have surgery and should not be out of action for too long, the MRI scan failed to find a brain (as you can see the headbutting of concrete did not affect my sense of humour). Thanks to the people who attended to me. Hope to see you all soon Regards Brendan |
