Track1.jpg:
-if anticlockwise: Beginning your track in the fashion of the original Estoril, with the first three corners merely changed to left-handers works well, creating an exciting overtaking spot in Turn 1. The 2nd overtaking spot at the end of the kinked backstraight is enjoyable, too. It kind of reminds me of Stowe corner from Silverstone. I don't like the hairpin too much, which is up next, because it interrupts the midtempo section of flowing corners that leads back onto the main straight, probably through some nice elevation changes. The final chicane is completely avoidable. -if clockwise: Beginning your lap with that chicane is rather dreadful move, because this way, you would waste your perfectly well flowing first two multi-apex corners. Running in this direction, the hairpin makes sense as a 2nd overtaking spot and is very welcome as such. But the kink in the backstraight has a serious lack of runoff problem with the position in which most likely the main grandstands will be located. So I guess your track is anticlockwise after all. And the final section, leading onto the main straight again is too Barcelona for me. The blot shape of Track1.jpg is just OK to me, but it's a plus that you've got some imaginative corner shapes there in the 2nd half of the anticlockwise lap. I'll say something about Track4.jpg later. |

Track4.jpg may well be the best track you've posted here so far. It looks really natural and Hugenholtzish in a ginger kind of way. Hopefully, the elevation changes are enjoyable, too.
I got just one minor criticism: the long curve on the right-hand side of the 1st finger, which most likely will be at full speed, lacks runoff, because the left-hand side of the 1st finger is too close. I'd solve that problem by a change that might be a little controversial: copying from Tilke! Turn 2 and Turn 3 of your track would make room for the necessary runoff, if they were closer to Turn 1, like it is the case at Turn 2 and 3 of Tilke's Bahrain circuit. This way, overtaking might even be possible at the tip of the 1st finger, Turn 4. I hope this idea is OK for you. |
