John Andretti 1963-2020
John Andretti lost his battle with colon cancer. Drove midgets and sprints, Indy cars, Nascar, IMSA.
He was the son of Aldo Andretti, Mario's twin brother. |

He won the Watkins Glen 500K in BMW with Davey Jones, and Daytona 24 in Porsche 962 with Bob Wollek an Derrick Bell.

Also was the 1989 Rolex 24 overall winner and NHRA Top Fuel driver, too, I just found out today.

He won the first Gulf Coast Indycar race and participate in a V8 Supercar race per Craillsy after they announced it on the Bathurst Practice coverage from RLM.

He was the first driver to do "the Double". He drove the 43 STP Pontiac for Petty in the Daytona 500. He drove the Pennzoil car for Penske in the Indy 500. I'm sorry to say that I never quite appreciated John's accomplishments until today.
