Where to buy WHITE proban overalls
Can anyone point me in the direction of a UK stockist that sells white or light grey coloured proban overalls?
I can only find red, black, orange etc. and need a light, one coloured suit. What do you guys wear for Goodwood? Presumably this would be easier to achieve on a US website? Thanks |

I have used AWS for supplying my white overalls for Le Mans & Daytona for the past 2 years. Give them a call.

Most safetywear shops have white heavy cotton overalls, so it depends if you really want Proban or not (obviously depending on what duty you are intending to do) - I do prefer to wear a white set for the 24hrs / darkness hours races

The ACO have issued this:-
For the next test day and the “24 Hours” week, the wearing of overalls will be COMPULSORY in the pit lane (plus the accreditive bib which gives access to this area) The overalls must meet the following criteria: - Each person accredited for the pit lane must procure this garment which will not be supplied by the ACO. - These overalls must offer a real degree of protection: anything from a minimum of 100% cotton (flame-proof) to a greater degree of protection against fire (Norm N°8856 2000). - This garment, plain and light coloured (white, beige, light grey), must not bear any publicity, logos, brand-names, etc. Most suppliers are happy to make them as special order, I'll call round today when I have a few minutes.... |

[small rant]
I'm sorry but if an organiser dictates what you can/cannot have on your overalls and what colour they should be, then that organiser should damn well provide them! [small rant now over] |

Anita, as a BMMC member you should be able to get the AWS discount on white overalls as well.

Marshal Le Mans and you'll get them for free!
With very fetching scotchlight strips and Dunlop sponsorship! |

recycling....
hey Hollywood thanks for the idea.....
I think I've 10*old sets of Le Mans marshalling overalls insulating the top of my wordrobe, maybe it's time to get them on EBay? Ain't Proban or Nomex, but it's reckoned to be good enough for us. Got to be cheaper for the snappers than buying new white Probans. wait tho - They've got Dunlop and ACO logos.... * don't ask why I've kept them, but it's always good to have a couple of spares. |

We used to wear our white "Le Mans" overalls while on painting duties at the NEC for the Autosport Live Action Arena. Did cause Jeremy Clarkson one year to ask if we were "the mechanics", but apart from that - what a waste when there might be money in there!
Does anyone realise that the Le Mans overalls are all based on marshals being of the same height? The only difference in size (S, M, L etc) is the amount of stomach that they accommodate. |

Thing is Le Mans gets those overalls for free from Dunlop. Hence they do not bother much about sizes.
And as the French marshals are easily pleased,...... You wouldn't see me in a very non flame resistant overal. |
