BTCC 2017 Rumours & Silly Season

so with 2016 under way and the rumours starting already I feel the need to start this thread. So far I have heard

Support our Paras are looking to return to the series
Richard Hawken is looking at a return to the series
Team Hard are planning something (https://twitter.com/tonygilham34/sta...09762336870400)

The following questions over 2017 also exist:

Will Halfords Honda find a driver or even sell their 3rd car ?
Will Eurotech receive the ability to continue to run their 3rd car ?
Will BKR continue to run in the championship
Will the Subaru look like a championship winning car going into 2017 ?
Will we see Simon Belcher return alongside Austin at Handy
Will Andrew Jordan make a move to his 3rd team in 3 years

With all of the answers revealing themselves over time I am sure that 2017 is going to be as good or better than the 2016 season !

Regarding your last point. When interviewed on TV after winning Race Two today he was (rightly) full of praise for Motorbase and clearly said that he's planning on staying with the team for a very long time...

I'll hazard a guess that Gordon Shedden will drive a Honda.

The silly season really has started early now!

Can we get at least 66% of the 2016 season done before the rampant speculation and wishful thinking posts?

7th post in and no one has mentioned the Kia rumor from about 5 years ago yet? Shoddy.

Ah hem, as is now customary every few months, looks who is creeping back out of their shell:

Maybe I should sit back and have a coke, I wonder if I can get people to contribute to a 10 pack...
The paddock can well do without them

It says a lot that after 3 days only 2 (rather silly) people have donated.

Surely they'd get a 'thanks, but no thanks' from Gow, like Chris James allegedly did?

That would be great to get an international tin top superstar in the series, although we'll probably never get it like the 90s where it reached EPL levels of foreign stars. But one or two wouldn't go amiss, might even encourage a manufacturer or two to enter

It would be nice if Courtney could dovetail a BTCC drive with an EU GT drive too. That would be tempting to make to move across. At the same time, not getting too excited, early days yet!

TBF BTCC would be an obvious move given Alan Gow is part of his managment team

I can't see it happen. His salary was reported to be well over 1 million AUD last year, that kind of money would pay a two car team in the BTCC. If he decided to leave Australia he'd probably end up in a GT works programme somewhere.
