Don't see why that woudl be true when he as more resources at hand with his own team, plus he is on par testing wise against Foretc

Maybe Power should jump ship from ADR and go there or better still Lloyd who it was specualted before signing to ADR would be having that seat.
If Dutton are going to Formula 2 next year then it could well make sense that Piquet is talking to Richard Dutton but not for F3 but F2 next year before going to Williams F1 as a test driver. |

Rossiter 1.13.247 Piquet 1.13.711 I agree, it does not sound a lot of time difference, but in F3 terms its a few places away from pole. |

One thing to think about is how are the teams testing these cars, are they in race set up or testing?
It can make that little bit of a difference and make them shine on teh time sheets in testing. I think that maybe Fortec have got a race set up so on race day we will see them a couple of places down teh field I think with Carlin and Hightech at the top, then Piquet then Rossiter around 6th place. Just my thoughts. |

Whether Piquet would be driving for Fortec or not I don't know, but perhaps a link-up would be mutually beneficial to both. One two-car team can learn more than two one-car teams, and should be quicker. I do think Piquet could do with a team-mate. It was alright being the only driver in a learning year, but perhaps not now.

Do you think Piquet is concerned about Rossiter's pace? By putting himself in the same team would eliminate cirtain risks e.g. his own car (Piquet Special) being slower? Makes you wonder. Fortec seam to be making some of the other teams a little uncomfortable too - Great stuff, long may it continue!!

Yes he'll be concerned about the Fortec, and the Carlins, and the Menus and the P1s. But I also think that when he turns the wick up, he'll be right there. He doesn't want a team mate to detract him from what he has to do this year. Any conversations he is having with other teams will surely be about Beyond F3 ...

I still think Piquet, with his own team, will be incredibly difficult to beat when it matters: qualifying and race.

Have to say I'm with noweels here (which don't happen very often, eh?). I heard rumours that, although he appears to deny it himself, Piquet benefits from the challenge of having a team-mate. The one-driver team set-up is too cosy for him. Plus there's the technical advantages. And if noweels says he's talking to Fortec, then I'm prepared to take it as, if not actual fact, then certainly a very credible rumour.
