12 Hours of Sebring - now with more Season Finale!
After taking a few races off I'm back for another garbage race thread attempt for the 2020 IMSA season finale. There's been a few pieces of info in the 2020 IMSA thread.
- No Bill Auberlen power in the Turner entries. No official reason given yet. Maybe covid? - Between 1000KM of Paul Ricard, WEC Bahrain and Sebring a number of drivers have shifted around various programs with titles in mind. - Final factory Porsche presence in GTLM. Livery is underwhelming to some considering the notable liveries available. Personally, it kinda gives me flashbacks to last week. Something about Red and Blue something something. But hey at least it doesn't just say "FAST" on the side. - Final race for Penske DPi team. Assets to be transferred Sunday after race. - There's a number of championships to be wrapped up, some of which require wins. - More night racing! Race being held outside of daylight savings combined with the earlier sunset in November compared to March will give us 90 more minutes of dark. - This weekend kicks off the final 12 hours of 2020's 41 hours and 20 minutes of Florida, crushing the longstanding 36 Hours of Florida. - I think the tropical storm is done? Entry List Race Weather Spotter's Guide Race Schedule There's a number of live timing options. I'm a fan of the more traditional alkamel systems layout. I believe The Racing Line provides a way to access that, or there is a desktop app you can download to your computer. I've used the desktop version for Le Mans and Spa 24, it worked pretty well. IMSA also provides it's own format, but you can't adjust the race time (so no syncing to an audio feed). Streaming/Viewing - - IMSA.com/tv should work for International viewers. You'll get Radio Le Mans commentary (I think? I haven't used this method for a few months.) - I believe Weathertech Qualifying should be watchable on IMSA TV in North America, also with Radio Le Mans. - Pilot Challenge and the 12 Hour races will both be streamed on NBC Trackpass using NBC commentary. There are commerical breaks in the commentary, but stream sticks with track feed and light natural sounds. I use this feed on mute, and sync up Radio Le Mans, which is usually 30-90 seconds ahead. - The first 5 hours of the 12 Hour race will be on NBCSN. Then 3-6PM will be on NBC proper. The race will then finish on NBCSN. On track action has started, hope you all have elected a sacrificial piece of furniture to burn come Saturday night! Thanks for the thread seanyb! I'm still not getting the core concept of the 12 hours not being in March
Maybe since he has the win record now he just dropped the mic and be out. |

Racer updated it, self quarantine as he came in to contact with someone who tested positive recently. So no positive but following medical advice caution. Unlike a certain pink colored racing team in another series

The old airfield comes to life again, this time in November, the same week as the Masters. Crazy year.

For Porsche fans, the prerace parade laps will be livery time, from S365.
***As part of its ‘Thank You’ campaign this weekend, five Porsche 911 RSRs will take part in three ‘farewell laps’ on Saturday morning prior to the race including several of the team’s most popular liveries. ***Cooper MacNeil will be at the wheel of the Coca-Cola-liveried Porsche, which is now owned by WeatherTech founder and CEO David MacNeil, while CORE autosport owner Jon Bennett will be part of the parade at the wheel of a 2016 race-winning model. ***Other cars slated for the farewell laps include the Brumos-liveried Porsche, the 2018 Petit Le Mans-winning Mobil 1 Porsche 911 GT1 98-inspired car, to be driven by Patrick Long and the current-generation Porsche 911 RSR-19 with this weekend’s special ‘Thank You’ livery. Of course Cooper's dad bought him the biggest Coke livery Porsche collectible. |

Sad to see Porsche go... Glad to hear several are planned for GTD next year. Hope this will be a good race weekend. I am used to going to Sebring this time of year for historics, it is an odd thing that this year's 12 Hours is not under Springtime sunshine. |

GTD Qualifying wrapping up, T3 looks a bit slippy, or AM drivers look a bit eager to get on the power there.
Is Jan Heylen's mask a Mission Winnow branded mask? |

Yes, it is a massive shame to see Porsche go. I wonder if any privateers are planning to run them next year?
It doesn’t matter that this race is a bit later than usual. Circumstances like these happen, but at least we are getting a race. And let’s hope it’s as good as previous ones here |

Drive through for #10.
No penalty for #7 for going rather early. Just hand the championship to Taylor Jr and Castroneves, alright? Jeremy Shaw doesn't agree either. |

Whilst I agree the 10 broke the rules, so did almost every row on the grid. Seems like if you're down in the pack it's just a case of "that's what happens at starts"

What live timing are people using? My two usual go-to places are not working,

Just wait untill they do another replay of the start and see where the #31 goes.
It's on the left under the wing of the red Mazda ... |

#7 dropping like a stone. 1st to 6th in one lap.
They pit, engine cover off. Car behind the wall. No turbo boost after leaving the pits after the fist pitstop |

Sebring is biting.
Failed intercooler for 7, failed driver talent for Tower. Timing - the timing71 desktop version has an option in preferences to enable super secret options. You can delay the timing with this method, the options above cannot. |

The gap between video and timing was only 8 seconds today, but 0 is even better than that |

What is the reason for the safety car?
Cheering for #16 Porsche to win GTD championship. Cheering for #30 Audi to win the race. Cheering for Porsche in GTLM to go out on top. But a BMW win would be fun too. No to Corvette today..they will have plenty of chances to win races in 2021. |

It sure is. I had it at almost 2 minutes at races before so I even had to stay away here to avoid reading things that were still to happen for me
