Stops the fuel slooping around and the pick up gulping air during hard cornering. I think I originally bought mine from ATE (?) the Fuel cell people in Milton Keynes, they will advise you how much you need as it done by volume.

measure the tank ie LxWxD and ask for a block the same size as your tank
whether you can get it in there or not is another matter I wouldn't reccomend a can of expanding foam from B&Q |

Merlin motorsport (01249-782 101) sell smallish cubes of the stuff.
The advantage of small cubes is you can stuff them down the filler. Not as good as building the tank round a lump of foam but certainly helps. |

With the cubes, are you looking to fill the tank with foam, or half-fill it, or what?

If building a tank from scratch it helps to leave a lump out by the fuel outlet pipe, creating sort of a mini swirl pot. |

One of the advantages is that it reduces the chance of a big explosion in an accident. As it is the vapour that explodes it reduces the volume of this considerably.

my 205 with 5ltre tank is filled with foam i.e right up to the filler neck, bear in mind that with the foam in you are really pushing your luck to try 2 runs without refueling!
