Apparently starting from october minicross is in!
anyone who knows the current situation surrounding the topic will be happy with the decision. |

There is no minicross as such like yours so a junior level class is simply just going to be called minicross because it has no senior class. Sure there are hundreds of mini's over here! Id say lloyd hutchinson is going to be doing well |

Surly thats not cost effective for the people from over here as they could't come and compeate over there!

It may be worth British and Irish rallycross allowing other models into the junior series. Autograss now allow the Citroen AX and Fiat Cinquecento into class 1 (the old mini 1000cc division) - after testing and engine development they found that the performance of these cars was comparable with the mini. Perhaps rallycross should look at doing this? It may help to reduce junior costs too...

According to the MSA blue book, the minimum age for rallycross is 16 and the minimum age for minicross is 14. So unless this is changed I can't see how the juniors can use anything but a Mini.

Sure, but I don't think anyone could object to a change in the blue book regs on safety grounds. The 750 motor club are putting 14 year olds in Saxos in their new SaxMax formula - and Saxos are obviously much faster than Citroen AXs and Fiat Cinquecentos.

I guess the organisers must be aware of that - I seem to remember the Ka being mentioned as a possible junior car at one point too.

The idea of the class is to make it cost effective and be a starting point for youngins to get into the sport, there might be a training course involved also. |
