XM Satellite Radio Indy 300 @ Homestead Event Thread *SPOILERS*
Dan Wheldon grabbed the pole ahead of Sam Hornish Jr while Dario Franchitti, Tony Kanaan and Marco Andretti from AGR rounded out the top 5
Great to see that AGR seems to have caught up a bit to Ganassi and Penske. Great job by Sarah Fisher, after a rather long absence, to put the D&R car in the 9th starting spot. Nice job on the line-up there drdisque
It's going to be a challenge but I'll try to get up for the race. Starts 3am for me, ugh. Here's to a good, safe race with lots of the usual close racing |

Just seen it, bloody hell.
The car didn't really move a lot, it just sort of stopped dead at the fence and disintegrated from the front. He must have some pretty bad leg injuries? |

Pablo Perez and Sean Guthrie was racing side by side when they made contact in one of the turns, sending Perez flying into the catch fence in a nearly identical way to how Ryan Briscoe did it at ChicagoLand in 2005.
Perez was taken to hospital with leg injuries. EDIT - Bleh, beaten by two minutes. |

I jumped back to when the crash was shown and the commentator mentioned Perez had suffered "extensive injuries to his feet and ankles", and also that there hadn't been any further update on Perez' condition.
The web reports I've seen so far haven't mentioned any details, other than Perez being in stable condition, so we'll have to wait and see just how severe the injuries are. |

Seems Marco has some massive handling issues at the moment.

You two thought you could have fun without me.
Dixon is pantsing them at the moment. Solid run from Dario... |

Must be some sort of technical problem - he was about to be caught by Marty Roth, I believe, before he pulled into the pits.

You know you've hit rock bottem when Roth is after you.
Hornish locks it up into the pits. Had a thought about doing a Dixon. I'm not sure what I think about the smaller fuel cell... |

Howdy Hazza....
I just can't adjust to this IRL night race at Homestead crack. Night races at this oval are designed for Dodge Chargers to go careering into the wall backwards, erupting into flames. Mr Hornish in the pits, hopefully lost some time. |
