Gary Anderson - getting ready to run?
After James Allen's uncharacteristic error - arf - in saying that Gary Anderson had handed in his notice at Jordan, we discover that in fact he has merely asked for a less intensive role. Is he preparing an exit strategy? And how will it affect the team? Jordan are looking pretty sickly these days, and the Vodafone affair can't have helped. I'm not sure we'll see EJ on the grid in 2005. A terrible thought, but I worry for him and his boys.

It was beyond me why EJ got Anderson back in the first place, other than the 91 Jordan all his cars have been average at best, surely Eddie should give Sergio Rinland a call, he is so wasted in the BTCC, go on Eddie you know it makes sense.

The 199 was mostly his car, there wasn't much wrong with that!

What was the last car Rinland designed? Was it the Sauber which came 4th in the Constructors Championship a couple of years ago?
As for Anderson, it seems a sensible way of gradually reducing involvement as opposed to leaving at the drop of a hat. |

I still wish they had sttill been with Honda instead of BAR. The team has too much personality to not be on the grid. The designs of the cars have been beautiful too.b6

Rinland did the 2001 Sauber _and_ last year's rather impressive Arrows A23. He's quite good. A hell of a lot better than Anderson's work at Jordan.

Jordan worries me greatly. We can't really afford to go down to 9 teams yet Eddie seems to be losing a grip of reality. The Vodaphone fiasco will not help him get any future sponsors. Publicity like that was neither necessary or needed!

4th in the championship is like winning the whole goddam thing! No way can a team like Sauber compete with the big three.
Unfortunately what Jordan lack is money - and now they lack another £5m. |

Dutch F1 magazine RaceReport reports in their latest edition that Jordan will have rebadged Mercedes engines in their cars. Furthermore Heinz-Harald Frentzen is said to go back to Jordan, to cooperate with Gary Anderson.
Wonder what will be true, Frentzen to Jordan or Anderson out at Jordan. |
