Chinese GT Championship
So there's a new GT championship just announced, in China, looks like a 4 round series with a multi class GT platform.
Goldenport Motor Park (11 June) Shanghai (31 July) Chengdu (4 Sept) Zhuhai (30 Oct) Cars eligible are all GT3 as well as cup based cars including the Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo, Porsche 997 Cup, 991 Cup, Audi LMS Cup, and Aston Martin Vantage GT4. Will be run on Pirelli Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I predict between 5 and 8 cars on the initial entry list, signaling another fiasco.
Stupid race series organizers, work together!!! |

What's needed next, is the Inner Mongolian Chinese GT Championship held exclusively at Ordos circuit. That way the Inner Mongolian superstars could eventually graduate their GT3 and Challenge cars for the Chinese GT Championship, on their route to further regional Asian series (titles TBA) running GT3 and Challenge cars.

Not all went according to the plan: https://twitter.com/SergioFonseca8/s...93534536720384 It's from the Chinese Ming dynasty. Fiveā¦five-hundred-years old. You can get one just like it for $5 in Chinatown. |

And here I was expecting to see the rise of the Somalian GT Championship....
Nothing wrong with a national championship for China, every country should have a national GT title. There are plenty of cars around but when you look at the success of GT Asia, Asia Carrera Cup, Audi R8 Cup you do wonder where they'll get entrants from. Good idea but a tad late in my eyes. |

14 is about twice the number I was expecting but lots of TBAs too.
And if there's demand for more opportunities to let P3 cars race in Asia why not let them join too? Or is this SRO alligned? |

Their logo is a blatant ripoff of the Gran Turismo "GT."
How typically Chinese. |

I'm sure there are many "how typically American" things we could say of IMSA or whatever as well. They're even reading prayers and having national anthems in their national events.

Counterfeit China is best China.
That reminds me, how long until best Korea launches their own series with dear leader as head driving coach? |

Just coach? No, all the drivers would be military generals, except the one in the nuclear powered car that ends up winning every race, you know by the Supreme Leader. Or the thin, muscular guy claiming to be Kim anyway...

I am surprised that they didn't rebadged these GT cars. Maybe Geeley R8 LMS, Landwind V12 Vantage.

Maybe we should just give it a chance, how do any of us know this isn't going to be anything other than and extremely professional and high quality series?! Other than knowing better... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

More posts about Chinese humor than actual information on the series. That must be the real "interest" in it.

Ha, I'm actually pretty impressed with the rough entry list, if the series is run well there's no reason it couldn't be a successful national GT series Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
