Jay should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
First of all, this is what Jacques Villeneuve saw:
http://f-1.sovintel.ru/01/melbourn/melb4.html

And this one shows just how lucky is to able to tell his story: http://f-1.sovintel.ru/01/melbourn/melb5.html

The above videos are from F1 Russian Project.

Now this is what Villeneuve had to say in an interview with TSN correspondant Gerry Donaldson.
Quote:
..."This is very, very heavy," Villeneuve said. "These guys don't expect to lose their life working on the track. It is very sad, because they are there to help us. It's going take a while to absorb the meaning of this because of the shock I'm feeling."

"I had a very fast car," Villeneuve said. "It was very easy to drive, so I was expecting to overtake Ralf in that corner. He was in the middle of the track and I didn't know whether to go left or right. When I decided to go on the outside, he jumped on the brakes and I could not get out of the way."

"It hit very hard," Villeneuve said a few minutes later, his face red and perspiring and his eyes wide with shock. "It was a big, big one. It's a good thing that the survival cell worked. When I started flying in the car I was just hoping not to hit anything with my head."

Blimey Jay - you must be a mind-reader! I posted these very video links in "Ralf & Jacques" twenty minutes before this thread was started!!

Can I borow your crystal ball?

Yeah, but "He jumped on his brakes" definitely implies he thought Ralf was in the wrong - so what's his perspective now? If he's sticking to his original viewpoint then why is it only Villeneuve's actions being called into question? (you have to admit he does mostly know his limits).

THANKS FOR HTE VIDEO CLIPS. I HAVE ALRADY POSTED ON THE OTHER THREAD (sorry for the caps) that Ralf ran towards Jacques immediately after he got out of his car to see if Jacques was OK. I do not think there is any animosity between these two, and any interviews they gave afterwards must be taken into context because both had been in a horrific accident and must have been suffering some degree of shock. I won't repeat what I have already posted in the other thread, most of you probably read it anyway. I am glad that both drivers are OK.

Neither of the videos would run on my computer - just a blank screen comes up.

But I think it was just a horrible accident and I am thankful both are all right. They must hope we move on soon and really, we should.

Liz, I downloaded (free) the latest Windows Media Player, and the two videos automatically installed into this player, and I could watch it by pressing the play button. It takes a little while to download, but the first one is well worth watching because it was taken from the on-board camera of the BAR.
