We will get to see the whole BTCC season on Speed Channel in North America during the winter but if you're asking if they will be actually coming over here and racing, the answer is unfortunately not. It is unfortunate because I think the BTCC would be very successful here.

...the BTCC would be succesful here...
Honestly speaking, probably not. If it was successful, the NATCC would have lasted much longer than just 2 years!! But I like the fact you have a dream!! Sighh... |

km chow...the reason that NATCC failed was because of lack of manufacturer involvement (Dodge was really the only factory team) and the numbers of the grid were very small.

If Speed Channel wants to show the BTCC this year, they had better hurry up and buy the rights - because they haven't so far.
At the moment it has only been sold to France, Italy, New Zealand, Malaysia, the Middle East and San Marino. Some of the support races have also been sold to Sweden. |

Right now, Speed Channel' emphasis has switched to Nascar. They were acquired by Fox (or should I say Nascar???) Sports earlier this year. All the other series have been relegated a back seat as far as support,tv coverage, planning is concerned.

But Tim Harvey fan, what makes you think that a revised BTCC based set of rules would do any better here in NA? Don't get me wrong, I'm a big touring fan, but I'm one who has been emotionally scarred since the collapse of the NATCC!! ;-) Also, the new series would face established competition from the Speed World Challenge series?
Unless the manufacturers come out with committed teams and marketing efforts, I can't see the series getting anywhere? Sighh... |

I hope speed channel should get BTCC, DTM and V8 Australian Supercars. I heard that Speed Channel has the V8 Supercars for the winter.

Yes, everything will be broadcast in the winter. Why? Because it's the offseason for Nascar!! The BTCC,DTM and V8 Supercars are just mere "fillers" in the eyes of Speedvision. Expendable.

slightly off topic, but what do you guys think of the USTCC. I've only seen the website and the cars look just like the production cars.

What is the USTCC? Do you mean the Speed Channel Touring Cars?

The USTCC is the United States Touring Car Championship. The cars are very stock. In terms of organization and technical aspects, the cars are slot below that of the Speed World Challenge (WC). OTOH, the cost of racing in the USTCC is supposed to be extremely cheap when compared to the WC.
The website is www.ustcc.com |

I live in the US and hopefully someday Speedchannel will show some BTCC. I'm sure they can sacrafice 1 hour every week from their precious Nascar to show some touring cars, weather it be ETCC, V8 Supercars, or BTCC. (I prefer the latter!)

I didn't know about the U.S. Touring Car Championship. I just can't wait for the BTCC, DTM, V8 and hopefully the ETCC this winter for the Speed Channel. I like the BTCC with the Tourers and the Production guys.
