V8 Super Circus

Well done to Skaifey he has not driven that well for a full round in while. Kudos to Mark Winterbottom as well. enough of that.
AVESCO or whoever you are now, this series is bordering on a complete debacle.
How can you lay claim to this being a drivers championship.
PROFESSIONAL TEAMS

PROFESSIONAL DRIVERS

AMATUER OFFICIALS & GOVERNING BODY.
This does not include the track marshalls.

It really is a joke.

peckstar has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
oh no the track marshalls are ametuers too

thats part of the problem , our officials are ametuers, not for cash and as a result are inconsistent in their interpretation.

Im not sure though how you cant claim this isnt a drivers championship, surely now more than ever we will get to see the drivers skill, as opposed to the one with the best setup running away from the rest of the field as often occurred in the past

So hang on. a driver who sets up a car with his team to the best of his/her ability and wins isn't what you want to see ?

But a championship that will be decided on circumstance, whether that be reverse grid carnage or an officials call is what you want to see ?

Well when we see reverse grid carnidge then we can comment, but we saw less damage in race two than we did at clipsal or the GP
i obviously dont want to see races decides by officals, thought i covered that

and thanks for telling us what is good about reverse grids "a driver who sets up a car with his team to the best of his/her ability and wins " isnt that what we saw today

He peckie, by "track marshals", I think he/she is talking about the track-side officials as being OK. You know, the ones who wave the flags, clean up the mess and so on, the ones who are given odd-ball instructions from those in the ivory tower.

I am an unpiad volunteer, but I lend my professional skills at race meetings. Without the volunteers and track marshalls you can kiss any form of racing in this country goodbye, even at the highest level. So I think everyone should be careful who they bag out.

well unfortunatly that makes you an ametuer S Doctor. If you were being paid you would be professional. that is the distinction. its not a bag out, but im sure (or at least i hope) you will admit that even track marshalls make mistakes

Everyone makes mistakes, it is part of the human way. But to say that the track marshalls and volunteers are at fault because of their inconsistencies is not correct. You need to look at the people in charge, and whether the volunteers are being given the correct training, or if the race director is giving them the correct instructions.

Training for the officials is essential, and only a couple of the circuits do it. CAMS get all this government grants for officials where does that money go? Certainly not into training.

Very true & what about all the money that the ring leaders of this circus rake into their coffers. Their idea of putting back in, is offshore races & street circuits. Not helping motorsport grow will be to thier own detriment.

Yes Chronicle the track marshells, scruitineers & all the volunteers on the ground doing the grunt work so a race meeting can actually take place, on the whole are doing a outstanding job for the love of motorsport, as you said its the elite in their ivory tower that seem to lack the ability to make rational decisions.

Rewarding mediocrity by putting the the slowest people at the front is a pathetic way to spice up television. Motorsport has a long history of rewarding the fastest driver with the best grid posistion not the opposite.

Peckster you dont work for AVESCO or whoever they are counting the crowd numbers do you?

no i dont, do you work for the tracks that previously reapped all of the benifits without giving it back to the teams and the fans? touche.

still need marshalls etc at street races. but you should go and argue your inferior arguments over in other topics that already discuss this. every major pemanent circuit in australia except EC and you can blame lack of crowds for that has a v8 race

As Roland Dane said yesterday, what we were witness to was a farce.

i expect it will happenA9x. it happened last year too. bathurst ambrose attempts to pass slower driver. slower driver is too stubborn to realise he had been passed destroyed my favorite drivers car.

and it happened at the clipsal this year, when lowndes got caught out in an incident with a slower driver spinning in front of him.

Accidents happen, its is an integral part of of motorsport. it part of why many peiople go
