Singapore GP Circuit
Have a look at the video below - a computer-generated 3D lap of the Singapore street circuit.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=htOu3_GrufE It looks like a very challenging track, with everything from long sweeping bends to tight corners. Will this make it a Monaco-style setup for the teams, or will they need to start from scratch? The chicane at 0:40 looks like it has the potential to catch some drivers out, and assuming it's an accurate representation of the seating layout - imagine sitting in the front row of the grandstand at 0:51 as the cars drive under you! |

Cool stuff, looks good.
I was thinking about it and I was wondering if they're gonna hold Quali at night or during the day? |

According to the FIA website (http://www.fia.com/mediacentre/Press...300108-05.html) qualifying will take place at 8pm local time, as will the race.

Looks like a great street track, there might even be space for overtaking depending on how wide it is.

And to top it all those are the cheap seats! Unfortunately it looks like you'll see sod all from there so I went for an alternative. I was quite taken with the idea otherwise!

Now now Wills, we all know that Bononi was referring to Asian girls being famous for their fine cuisine.........
Anyway, if the track is as wide as some are suggesting, it will make for an extremely entertaining race. Does anybody think it will be as good a street circuit as Adelaide? |

Oh I should have known, though I must say you should check out Newton Circus over there for some good outdoor grilled food(although famous for being a tourist trap its a good experience). Its been a long while since we had a street race other than Monaco so I don't know what to expect. At least with street races is that driver error will be punished so we won't expect to see all but 2 cars finish like we do in most grand prixs these days.

Gotta like the idea of the track going under the grandstand.A great opportunity to throw an empty 'tinny' at your most loathsome driver! Last edited by Marbot; 1 Mar 2008 at 00:37. |

With regard to the Singapore track lighting: I've just watched the MotoGP highlights of the Qatar race.Apparently the power output for that particular track is 5,400,000 watts! Certainly it looked like it was doing a good job,but I do really think that it's a bit wasteful! It certainly goes against F1 becoming a more environmentally friendly sport.
