Normal. They want to be racing in proper championships not racing by themselves in boring WEC.

I don’t doubt the UK will feature on the 2021 with either one or two events

All those empty grandstands around Silverstone don’t help. They make the place look deserted even if there is a decent crowd.
I wonder if there is also some commercial tension. Silverstone is the only GTWC venue not open to spectators on Fridays. I asked why and was told SRO won’t pay, which means Silverstone are asking too much money. You also cannot get around the fact that Silverstone is just plain ugly. Paul Ricard may divide opinion but it is a fabulous place to visit, a beautiful setting and with much better viewing than Silverstone. Mind you, they also have the empty grandstand problem. |

No idea, I was just disappointed because it was close to home and I’d rather watch 50+ cars for 3 hours than 20 for an hour
The statement can be found here http://www.dailysportscar.com/2020/1...s-for-sro.html As someone with no interest in E Sports I’m not sure how to feel about the teams championship potentially being decided via E Sports racing but we knew those days were going to come. |

GT World Challenge Europe 2021
Silverstone is completely down to brexit I imagine
No WEC, ELMS, or GT Open either. Silverstone is going to be very quiet indeed Brands Hatch is also dependent on brexit ad Magny cours spint raves are the following weekend so travel will need to be uninterrupted otherwise brands hatch goes too Such a shame. Sports car viewing in the U.K. will go from 3-4 GT + 2 major to half or less in a year |

Brands Hatch 1-2 May will have GT Cup supporting it, which is great news.

Kyalami was a good and watchable race despite just 12 cars. Now that is too small to go forward with. But a race with just 20-30 GT3 cars is just fine. Spa 24 I think should be 36-40 cars going forward. Pro and silver cup only.
Maybe they can get Pro-am, Am, GT2 and sport club to run a support 3 hour race maybe. For the races between 3 and 10 hours in length going forward. 25-30 is the ideal car count. Spa 24 what I said before. |

Spa 24h will never be without Am, the SRO are very clear about how they value the presence of Am entries. And they would never instate a maximum grid of 40 cars when they can let in many more and collect entry fees from each of them. |

What is an entry fee nowadays anyway?

Even regardless of entry fees, SRO have been clear that Ams will not be going away. Unlike ACO, and to an extent IMSA, they recognise that should big teams leave, the Ams are the backbone of all of their series.
Similar to Creventic when the Pros started complaining about the quality of the Am drivers. Creventics response was "If you keep complaining, we'll drop the Pro classes", since they understand the Ams are the important side of things. We like seeing the Pros. SRO understands the value of the Ams. |
