Third Team Australia Car .....?

Rumour in Australia has Will Power driving a third Team Australia Lola Ford at Surfers Paradise.

And possibly at Mexico City.

Apparently Will spent the weekend throwing a Team Australia Lola around Sebring.

He is rumoured to be seriously considering a full time drive in Champ Car next year. Though he had orginally ruled it out - preferring something in GP2 - a paid drive in Champ Car is thought to be a little more appealing now ......

Team Aussie should focus on two cars, but with Will driving the second one.

Welcome to 10T's, Tripcrwn!

If both of these rumours come to fruition, we'll be looking at 22 starters for Mexico. Is Ganassi gonna run? 23 cars? Wouldn't that be just too cool.

Its no rumour. MN reports today Will P for GC indy, plus looks like 2yr contract. Great news and good luck Will. Like many before him, guess he owes a bit of $ to backers in Europe and will now actually be paid to race. Worth every $ too. Does it rule him out of A1 for a couple more rounds I wonder?

Yep, saw it in MN today too.

The way Tagliani has been going in some races this year, I would think Power will give the Championship a big shake in 2007, once he has learnt all of the circuits in 06.

The Renault World Series seat is not a problem - he can miss the race if he wishes.

Walker has apparently got a third car ready for Power for Surfers.

And word in today's Autosport is that Marshall is out for 2006 - so Will could be in with a shout of a full time drive.

Good news.

Yep.

Will's been talking about his three year deal, so thankfully this looks like the end for the woeful Marshall.

When you've got a seat dedicated to drivers from a single country (as the second Team Australia car basically is), it makes sense for it to go to really good driver, and everything Will's done so far marks him down as a real talent. Assuming we don't get an awesome 2006 crop of rookies, he could be Rookie of the Year favourite, especially with a slight head start. There could be a great sponsorship opportunity with NiQuitIn as well - requires willpower.

Open Wheel is where he wants to be, not v8's. He has the backing that got him the TA drive from his sponsor, so why not stay in America and race on the tracks he's spent all year learning.

His testing must have been quite impressive for a team to sign him to a 3 year deal.

It's probably riddled with options and performance clauses like most.

It would be one hell of a story if he does do that more power to him, and T australia will be running a TA team so if he wins the championship then there no reason we he couldnt get the T Australia ride in 2007.
