Cooling systems
It is becoming more clear that GT cars need proper cooling systems installed. Proof lies in the FIA Gt champ from Hungary when Didier deforney had to be dragged almost unconcious from his car and splashed with water as he was so hot. Same thing in japan at the Sepang race. teams really must develop proper cooling systems for GT cars to reduce the heat inside or someone is going to faint at the wheel and have a big crash!

Don't they make these water cooled waistcoats for just such a reason?
Drivers get hot'n'sweaty even in open topped racecars, so even mandating powerful air-con systems or large ventilation holes wouldn't prevent the worst over-heating/dehydration etc. Anyway, driver fatigue/comfort is just another factor to be taken into account in the team tactics/car design for an endurance race... |

This is one of Sam Posey's favorite topics. He is convinved that if you put an air conditioner in the car lap times would improve dramatically at the end of stints in the endurance races. Of course, the engineers will never believe this, and view any cooling system as added weight and lost horsepower. I think we will never see one

I seem to recall seeing one team useing a box of dry ice in the cockpit- it was in a removeable box and could be changed at pit-stops- on t.v. it looked like there was a cockpit fire!
