Round 7 - WSBK 2011, Aragon

I can really only think of one opening question, can anyone stop Checa?

Rea and Toseland are out. I see that Lanzi has been brought in to sub for Toseland. Ten Kate are just running Xaus, which means they're in store for a miserable weekend.

Scassa is back for this round, which is only good. Parkes is looking strong now at the top of the points table. Davies and Lowes will also be competitive.

Melandri maybe? He's on top so far.

Badovini quickest BMW. Haga quickest Aprilia.

How much backdoor factory backing (if any) does Pramac get from Ducati?

Errr Pramac dont race in WSBK, but to answer the quesion, they get 2011 bikes and good backup, but probably not the same new kit, ie the heavier crank engine etc that Rossi tested.

I had a malfunction.

I meant Althea.

See the thread about the last round, Althea are basically running a factory bike for this year, Checa has the ex Corse technicians and some engineers in his garage, and the bike is pretty much a 2011 factory machine in all but name

Methinks Badovini is eyeing up Corser's seat next year with his current form!

Does anyone know what happened to Camier in race 2? Rogue tyre? He went backwards.

Ten Kate should just write off their superbike season! Of course, now that I've said that Rea will probably perform some miracles on the bike when he returns and is fit.

Given the general prediction that Checa will be up against it at the upcoming rounds, it's not all over just yet. Shades of Haga and Spies?

And finally, will BMW eventually give up on their in-house electronics and buy something off the shelf which actually works as desired?

I doubt BMW would do that because I dont think Honda do and that is what BMW being in WSB is all about, they are really the ony proper factory team. Besides if they can get it to work they can sell it themselves!

And yes if Badovini doesnt get that ride next I will be amazed!! Especially as Zanetti is going well in stock to move into the seat left.

Ten Kate are struggling, bke is low powered and hard to setup. Xuas should have never got the ride in the first place, serves them right!

Yeah, I still don't understand why Xaus got the nod. He's done little to help Ten Kate this year. You have to remember that the Honda platform is now getting on in years. They are due a new superbike soon with rumors of a V4, which the Honda faithful have been crying for.

Yes but it is year 3 now and the podiums are not as forthcoming as they were hoping, if this carries on into year 4, how long will the board carry on signing the cheques? You can clearly see Kawasaki and PBM are making progress in the right direction but it's hard to see such progress from BMW on the track, no doubt they are busting a gut behind the scenes but it must be a frustrating process, sometimes it's best to concede and compromise on certain things, it's all about the end game of winning isn't it?

True cg, but in F! BMW were the same, always setting low targets and then not pushing on, they could have shoved for the title with Kubica but instead developed the next year car which ended up being a dog!

They a re German though and its more about proving tech. THe Superstock bike is ther class of the field worldwide (apart from against factory Dukes), so only a matter of time praps
