RWD Fiesta
hi i recently bought a rwd fiesta rallycross car which i will be using for next year. i bought it of a guy who knew very little about its past so got no history with it. when i was stripping it down at the weekend i found the paint underneath was turqouise blue and i know this is a very long shot but does anybody remember my mk3 rwd wide arch fiesta (but not as wide as howlins or jaimie leas) in turquoise blue/green running in rallycross probably in the mid to late ninties!!!!!!!
thanks for reading |

What about the Colin Claxon version that was later used by Mike Sellar. When Claxon used it it was blue and white and i think it was white when Sellar used it. It had the same shape arch as the Howlin fiesta but was not as wide. The Howlin arch design was adapted by Autocross from their extra wide arch version used by Cross, Manning and the Nat Hot Rods for the euro2000 class, which Howlins old fiesta was built for.
Claxon built the car as a 4wd turbo YB, which kept going pop. He later converted the car to rwd and used the ex-betteridge BDG. Sellar used a 2.4 YB and then a Hart 420, which was illegal but he got away with it. |

Kevin McCann started in the ex Liptrot fiesta bought from Richard Moroney. McCann sold it to Nick Chandler and is now used by Jamie Lee. It originally had the 'wide nat hot rod type' panels but was converted to euro2000 spec by Liptrott, with the medium type panels that are fitted to the car at present.

I'm sure of got some photos of Sellars car somewhere - had a look in the album last night but none in there. Must be in the loft, I'll try and get one scanned if I find them. I'm fairly sure the shell was originally built by Pete Maylum (there are photos of it in his office so I'm assuming it was one of his builds).

Trevor Was Doing The Local Autocross Championship Up Here In A 4x4 Sierra 2 Years Ago Which He Shared Occasionally With Another Ex Rallcrosser John Gee Who Some Of You Might Remember. Kieth Bradley Returned To Autocross Aswell And Won The Overall Championsip In An Escort Cosworth In 2005 Which Once Belonged To A Guy Called Gordon Leeming Who I Think Did A Spot Of Rallycross In It In The Early To Mid Ninties
