Mark Weber led both sessions at Imola. He finally got pole by 3 tenths...

Dissapointed session for the Belgium drivers
Saelens 13th Leinders 21th They can't do anything in the race I think. I hope that is it raining tomorrow |

well done Mark Webber..I hope he can win the race without making any little mistakes and getting penalised.
markus friesacher in second...now thats an impressive performance..he spent a year or so here in Australia racing in Formula Holden and wasnt that impressive..but claiming 2nd on the grid for an F3000 race certainly is ..well done to him as well. |

Friesacher's performance certainly was the most surprising one of the qualifying session. Well done to him! Bourdais, I dare say, would have been higher up the standings had he not crashed and wrecked his car.
Should be in for an exciting race! |
