ModelT should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
What now Speedsource?

I am wondering what happens now with the future for Speedsource?

It would seem logical that Mr Tremblay did not read about the Joest deal in the press, and would have known what was coming down the line, as also I would figure IMSA knew long ago. Likewise, if Mazda wants to change team, I am sure there are still contracts to be honored and paid with Speedsource?

Speedsource has been so long with Mazda, one cannot imagine they will find another partner like them to fund their racing. So does this mean the end of the road for the Team? And what about all the staff, as whilst I do not know how many they employed, but had to be a number, who all have commitments and families relying on them.

It's life I guess, but will be strange to not see them at the circuits.

From what I can tell, Speedsource was a Mazda contractor and that organization has closed its doors. No idea what Tremblay's plans are as even his personal social media accounts have been deleted.

JFC Racing bought one of the Lola B12 / 80's from SpeedSource.
JFC Racing will not be attending this year’s NASA 25 Hour of Thunderhill race in December, as the team’s focus has switched from the current chassis (Wolf GB08) to expand on engine development. Finding the correct chassis platform was needed to expand the development of a twin turbo version of the JFC-V8. This exclusive Hartley designed, twin Hayabusa head V8 was purchased by JFC and will now go into production in 2018. JFC was fortunate to acquire one of the Lola B12/80’s from SpeedSource and will adapt this chassis with the new JFC-V8 power plant in boosted form.
JFC Racing plans to be back for the NASA 25 Hours of Thunderhill in 2018 with the next Just Fast Cars entry.

The idea with the engine is similar to the v8 used in STC-2000 (by Radical Performance), a block with two Hayabusa cylinder's head (with turbos in the JFC project). I want to hear it running.

JFC Racing already used this engine in aspirated form in the last 25 hours of Thunderhill 2016 in Wolf GB08 chassis.
The car was faster than the Ginetta G57 until it broke.
The V8 NA engine in the Wolf sound fantastic!!!

The beginning of a new chapter in the JFC Racing’s quest to conquer the NASA 25 Hours of Thunderhill. Next week we will be on the engine dyno with the first twin turbocharged version of the JFC-V8. This little 2.8 liter, twin Hayabusa head V8 will be the power plant for the Lola B12/80 LMP2 chassis.

Yes I think it is the same use in STC2000.
It is really a pity that the IMSA regulation is limited to only LMP2 cars with the Gibson engine or DPI with LMP2 chassis. This type of projects would add a lot of variety to the series as it happened in the 80s or 90s where there were always strange cars.

JFC-V8 is not a RPE. Design purchased from John Hartley

We are at the infancy stage of putting this engine into production here at JFC Racing in Auburn WA. Next project is the 2.8 liter twin turbo in the Lola B12/80 Ex-SpeedSource car (MM08). The JFC-V8 is a 90 degree billet aluminum block with integral cylinders (not sleeves) nickel plated. Flat plane billet crankshaft and Hayabusa heads. We had the 2.8 liter on the dyno for its inaugural mapping. We hit our target with 732HP and 462ft/lbs with just 12 lbs of boost. Should be a good start!

We can run the engine up to 10,000 RPM's safely. We plan to race in the 8-9K range, for fuel consumption. We will be back on the engine dyno at the end of the month to try out our new intake plenum designs. The Lola B12/80 is coming along and should be hitting the track for shakedown in July.
