They are both ugly, one looks like a mower, and one looks like a slug! mind you an RF94/95 is pretty appaling

I think the RF84 looks quite nice compared with the RF82/83 - with the big mouth at the front! Where have all the RF84's gone anyway ???

A friend of mine had an 84, whih he couldn;t sell for a year (it seems no one wanted one). It was for nothing, about 3500-4000 + engine!

In the ned he got bored and basically dismatled it and sold off - Wheels (6-70 a set?), Bold Engine (1500 ish), MK9 (1000?) and that was pretty much it. I think he has the chassis in his garden. I don;t know about anyone else but no way could I take a chassis to the tip!

Sounds expensive, perhaps why he couldn't sell? RF85/86's go for £4,500 to £5,000 in decent condition - full runners. A friend has just bought an 86 for £3K, supposed to be decent but I haven't seen it yet. RF85/86's are much more desirable

What are you talking about Dave? 85/86s are gorgeous! Agree with you on Reynard though.

Mike, thats an 86 though - great car. 84s are sh!t - apparently anyway!

Ever driven one Justin!?!? or set one up ,or changed the stupid clutch seals or tried to move the gearstick so that you can change gear with one hand or - oooh dont get me started! They quite obviously work but they are sh!t.

I had an 89 and it was **** like all the things you describe dhart. I eventually raced it without a clutch as it was such a pain in the arse. Rev the ******** off it and smash it into first gear and hold on. I recall frightening a marshall stupid in the pitlane at Cadwell with it at a restart after a certain Dave Hart put his yellow car into the wall on the original first lap.

Mind you, the bloke I sold it to won the Combe Class B Championship with it so it must have just been well sorted when I got ****ed off and sold it!

hit a nerve there..........no sorry, I was going on what people have told me, obviously have also never driven one or changed a clutch on one!

Is the gear stick in a stupid place then?

On the subject of gear sticks, did it ever occur to anyone @ VD that the hump in the bodywork round the gearstick on a 90/91/92 is too big! Bigfoot wouldn't fill that!

Aw Dave, I must be double jointed! (Sorry for the late reply!) I haven't had any more trouble changing gear than normal(?)
If you want a car that's difficult to set up, have a look at the Quests!
Re clutch seals, I was recommended to use silicon fluid and haven't had any trouble with seals since.
