What has Haywood got against ALMS?
He has a love affair with Daytona, but he has also won at Le Mans and Sebring as late as 1994 with a works Porsche. For a man with his record, I find it hard, and somewhat sad, to see him battling with GT cars at this stage of his career. He seems to have been touting the NASCAR/Grand Am line since the DP came out. Having driven the cars he has driven, even last year that problmatic Lola with a Porsche drivetrain, it must be a step down.
A serious question: Why does he love Grand Am so much? |

His connection is with Brumos Porsche where he is the lead instructor of their driving programs. Bob Snodgrass is President/CEO of Brumos Porsche and also an investor in Grand American.
I don't think he has anything against the ALMS and would probably drive a few races if offered a ride, but I think you can see where his paychecks come from and where he is going to concentrate his efforts. Last edited by LouisTheShark; 27 Feb 2003 at 00:27. |

Also, if he was in ALMS, he would be driving a 911, which even more unjust than the FABCAR. Of course, Buckler seems to have found the 911 quite satisfying. When Porsche finally builds a prototype, especially if they sell it, then Haywood might come race with the big boys. Haywood is all about Porsche, so we wait...

he has driven ALMS events before so I doubt he has a grudge with them.
