Not sure who you volunteered through but you could try contacting Paul Stilling as the MGCC Chief Marshal - contact details on the MGCC website http://www.mgcc.co.uk/mg-racing/moto...-contacts.html

see folks there

All said though, enjoyed the MGCC meeting at Brands earlier in the year and it has been a while since I have been to Thruxton so looking forward to it

Mmm...not sure I should read anything in to it....well, ok it is 10/10ths so why not...but the link to the HRDC Touring Greats Entry List is not available on the MGCC page, so could suggest no entries, leaving a few gaps in the timetable?

Race results from this year show good grids. I'm sure it's just that the series rep hasn't passed on details. Hopefully.

First Thruxton visit for about 4 years or so, and am very much looking forward to it. Looks like quite a few Brands regulars are making the trip on Saturday. Missed the MGCC meeting at Brands in April for the first time in many many years, due to marshalling at Thunderhill (Ca). Cannot go a whole season without a MGCC fix.

The HRDC website is cr-p, no info whatsoever and they expect to start promote meetings and attract competitors, it is just rubbish.

Post on the Historics Forum suggests a full grid.

Some practice sessions are separated by just 5 minutes, the races by 15, and the lunch break is quoted as being from 12:50 to 13:35 but last session finishes at 11:40 and first race is at 11:55!!!!!!

all perfectly normal for an MGCC-run race meeting; given your intimate knowledge of the circuit is there anything special or different about Thruxton that might negate that?

Lunch fits in after the practice sessions and races 1 & 2

the timetable is somewhat optimistic and keeping to the timings will very much depend on the drivers (by keeping it on the black bit) and the cars (by not breaking and/or leaking as some of the older ones are want to do occaisionally)

seem to remember the meeting at Brands earlier in the year was a good one all be it with a similarly challenging timetable

still looking forward to it

...and where does it say lunch-break has to be between practice and racing? Quite common to have races before lunch-break.

David,

Without worrying you, Thruxton issues:

1. It's a long circuit, therefore getting cars to the grid and then off the circuit can take a while. Everyone needs to be organised!
2. As said above, due to it being a power track it's expected that cars (especially older ones - not yours) will break. Lots of pick ups.
3. If you have an accident, it's usually quite large at Thruxton and can take a while to clear up. With the timetable as it is, we won't be wanting any of those.

Hope not to see you on Saturday (if you know what I mean)...

I didn't get chance to wave thanks from the car yesterday as I was doing the first stint in the HRDC race, so thanks to all for what must have been a long day. Hope we provided some entertainment without too much work!
