roydpg should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Races from 1966 to 1973

Hi all. My name is Roy. From 1966 to 1973 I filmed about 100 races. Filmed in 8mm they have all been recently digitalized and I've started to put them on youtube. Mostly filmed in Italy as I lived there at the time. A few of international interest being European championships. Some from the Uk , but very few, and one (for now) from Monaco GP and F3 1971. From mid 1970 they are with sound. That's the original synchronized "music" of the engines, not random background noise. Very rare at the time. I hope those of you who were there will remember what it was like and the younger of you will see what you missed. My nickname is roydpg. If you only want to see English races (I think that's a pity though) search Thruxton 1970, Crystal Palace 1971 and Mallory Park 1971. More will follow.

Sounds fantastic, will check them out when I get a moment. Please be aware though that, unless you own the copyright, we cannot condone trading of DVDs on this site.

Any chance we could do some sort of trade for them or even a sale which would be done off site

Yes, but do you own the copyright? I do not know how it was back then but these days the copyright usually rests with the circuit owner or promoter; it's a condition of entry. I have read your post elsewhere as per your private message and will seek the advice of th site owners. If the copyright does indeed rest with you I am sure they will be delighted t see these films come into the public domain.

Good news!

The powers that be have decided to allow this thread to reopen in the absense of any copyright claim against the films. It is possible, of course, that the circuit owners or promoters will try and lay claim to the copyright but, in the unlikely event that should happen, this thread will remain open and we are happy to see such films come to light after so long!

Back to business...

Mallory Park 1971

Yesterday I had a bit of bother getting Mallory on youtube. I'd made a mistake with one of the captions and gave a driver the wrong name. Of course this was immediately picked up by the very knowledgeable people who read this site......
I'm pleased to say it's back and correct...
