The Names of Racing Teams
It's not hard to figure out why Carlin Motorsport have the name they have (Trevor Carlin). Some are a bit more complicated and less obvious though - say Arden, which is named after the location where founder Christian Horner comes from, and Super Nova Racing is named after the Japanese Nova language schools. I thought we could use this topic to find explanations of where the team's names come from. I'll start off with several that has been bothering me:

BCN was formerly known as barcelona competition.
Maybe BarCeloNa competition? Meaning of trident is a spear with three prongs. It comes from that the team consists of three principal. |

I'll hazard a guess and say Fortec is simply Formula Technology - it's just a guess though.
Some probably don't have a meaning - I don't think iSport is born out of something as it was originally (of sorts) Den Bla Avis. Putting i at the front of something just seems to be all the rage these days! |

JB Motorsport: Jonge Belgen Motorsport (Young Belgians) Formerly JB standed for founder Jacques Bruynooghe, but after ex DTM driver Yves Olivier and his father took over the team, they changed the meaning of JB.
BCN Competicion: I think the B stands for "Barcelona" |

http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/ART_Grand_Prix
ART and ASM seem to be acronyms but it of it is nothing. Cedric Vasseur often had the occasion to recall that these letters do not have any significance and had been randomly selected |
