The big one at Brands, WSBK round 10
This weekend WSBK is at Brands Hatch. I've been a couple of times, I love this event. Unfortunately, I won't be there this time.
I hope the dip between Paddock Hill bend and Druids isn't filled with water, with all the flooding going on in England. It's good to see there will be a couple of wildcard entries at Brands. Tommy Hill will ride the Yamaha R6 in place of Kevin Curtain. I can't remember when it was the last time he rode an R6 competitively, but I really hope he does well. I think he's got talent. Here's a list of wildcards and replacements in WSBK and WSS: Superbike World Championship • Stefano Cruciani (ITA) will ride the No.112 Celani Team Suzuki Italia in place of Alessandro Polita • Marty Nutt (GBR) will ride the No.77 Nutttravel Yamaha YZF-R1 • Steve Martin (AUS) will make a single event appearance on the No.99 Yamaha YZF-R1 Supersport World Championship • Tommy Hill (GBR) will ride the No.6 Yamaha World SSP Racing Team YZF-R6 in place of Kevin Curtain • Matthieu Lagrive (FRA) will ride the No.81 Intermoto Czech Honda CBR600RR in place of Tatu Lauslehto • Artutro Tizon (ESP) will ride the No.10 Yamaha Spain YZF-R6 in place of David Forner. • Graeme Crowland (GBR) will ride the No.181 Team Benjan Motoren Honda CBR600RR in place of Nikola Milanovic If it is dry the world superbike races will be between Bayliss and Haga (looking at their track-record)!!!! PS. THIS IS THREAD NUMBER 2000 IN THE BIKE RACING FORUM! PARTY!! |

Steve Martin will be interesting - for the Virgin Media British Superbike team (who put Tommy Hill on a pole last year), with a view to him joining them for the rest of the BSB season - they are the only Pirelli team in the season, so his experience with those could help them?

Pfft, we get that in a day in some of our forums.
WSBK back in Britain again then! Hopefully a home win for the fans, or Haga! Haga and Bayliss are usually pretty mighty round here. |

Weather at Brands good at the moment. Plenty f sunshine and no sign of floods at all. In fact we had a two day car meeting last weekend and it was sunny both days! Forecast for the rest of the week looks pretty good too!

F1 forum is also a bit cliquey though, and i am findiing the rally/rallycross one like that too.
It seems certain people are allowed to make comments and certain people are not, hence goodness how many warnings slapped on me recently. Seems if you dont like F1 youa re not allowed to complain about it on the forum coz whatever you say is seen as a personal attack on the poster, not at all!! Better class of people in bikes! As i ahve said on there!! (awaiting warning!) |

http://www.superbikeplanet.com/2007/Aug/e/n070801a.htm I know Steve has tested with the Virgin Media team, and he was REALLY impressed. So there is still a chance that he will end up riding for Virgin in the BSB. |

In race 1 Bayliss got put aside by both Toseland and Haga kinda brutally, racing at its best. Than Bayliss seemed to be in a hurry to get them back and lowsided while breaking for Druids. His bodylanguage said it all, bye bye championship.
Toseland just had the edge over Haga in both races. It was a shame that Biaggi was slow starting AGAIN, cause he had the pace in both races. Oh and I know, he wasn't slow starting in race 2 . He was very impressive though. Kagayama his crash in race 1 looked really scary, cause his bike was trashed and I didn't understand the signals the marshalls were making. Luckily Kagayama didn't have to go to intensive care this time. Since his ride on the Motogp machine, Fabrizio has been really impressive. He was good in Brno, although that wasn't a surprise as he was good there the year before, but he surprised me at Brands, coming home in 4th in the 2nd race!!! The championship is James' to lose now. A 66 points lead he has at the moment! He will be missed in WSBK next year. My girlfriend thinks that as well, she will miss his on-track celebrations she says |

Superglue, King Kenan (whatever you wanna call him) is World Champion supersport in 2007. He came in 2nd behind Broc Parkes on the Yamaha R6!
It is the 6th time in a row (I think) Ten Kate produce the champion in the world supersport championship. Instead of Motogp, will Kenan Sofuoglu make motorcycle racing popular in Turkey? There are rumours that Turkey will be on the WSBK calendar in 2008. I don't doubt that Sofuoglu's success had something to do with that deal! The race was brilliant. Craig 'crash' Jones binned it while leading. That boy has talent, but he has to stay on the bike. The race for 3rd was great fun. Tommy Hill did a great job, but just wasn't quick enough in the end to fight for this place. Roccoli overtook Robin Harms OVER THE GRASS while crossing the finish line... 1 Parkes B.
