Stanguellini Formula Junior
Can I make a request for my more learned colleagues on here to start a record of the various Stanguellini FJ cars, please?
They were the car to have in FJ during their front engine years, and were definitely aesthetically pleasing as well as successful. Specifically, I'm looking for the chassis number of the Cunningham car, driven with much success by both himself and Walt Hansgen in 1959-60. I believe the photo attached is the car, and currently part of the Gordon Wright collection. If the earlier 750 sports cars can be included, along with the later rear- engined FJ Delphino, this would be most useful - But maybe more appropriate in a separate thread? |

It is said that approx. 150 Fjr cars were built but I find that number optimistic. The earliest serial # seen is CS00113 and the latest complete car being CS00198. If I recall correctly, there is a bare FJr chassis at Stanguellini in Modena that is CS00200. They have a very nice museum on the upper floors. www.stanguellini.it
As for the "Cunningham car", his own website lists 3 different serial numbers being owned by Cunningham, CS00139, CS00162 and CS00176. http://www.briggscunningham.com/BSC_race_cars.pdf Several people collect serial number information, car histories and current owner data. John De Boer is one, Bill Gelles owner of CS00176 knows many of the owners and Ducan Rabagliati organizes the FJr events all over the world likely know the whereabouts of most of the cars as well.
