Crennans Comments
I don't know how many of you saw it. But a week or so ago RPM did a story on HRT and in John Crennan boss of TWR Australia said the Jeff GReech should be Congratulated for getting rid of all the "Old Farts" in Australian Touring Car Racing.
A couple of problems I have with this. Not one of the current crop of V8 drivers has a personallity that is even remotly interesting. Who would you rather talk to Seton, Ambrose, McConville or maybe Murphy or some of the interesting Old Farts Brock, Bond, Johnson, Morris, Beechey, Holden, Grice, Richards etc etc. And lastly where does a no talent like Crennan suddenly become an expert in Race Car drivers. From my understanding he was not respect by his drivers other than the brown noses (SKAIFE). I think Mr Crennan after looking at some of the creations coming out of HSV in Clayton maybe Greech could do us all a favour and get rid of you. This my whinge for the day what are your thoughts. |

I agree. I'd rather listen to Brock, Johnson, Bond, Grice and so on talk about their careers than people like McConville, Murphy or Ellery. I don't know what Crennen's problem is, remember that 60 minutes story earlier in the year when Brock said how Crennen wanted him out, and the comments he made about Crompton a few years ago.
Although Ambrose could tell a good story, about his years in europe would be interesting. |

I am glad Jeff Grech and Crennan got rid of all the "old farts" like Craig Lowndes and gave young blokes like Tony Longhurst and Tomas Mazera a go!

Good point. Jeff definatley thinks alot of himself. The new guys aren't all bad, Ambrose is a good guy, the people I worry about is Crompton , Skaife , Barry Sheen , Mark Oastler and Steven Johnson. Always kissing each others ass, not body really, maybe Ingall, but thats it.
A great example of the drivers in full flight, is V8 Superstars, aren't they hilarious, damn now they imploying sheep jokes to keep people interesetd in the series. Real funny guys, yeah. |

And how was Bill's makeup on the last one ?
He looked like a Thunderbird!!! Agree totally with Bill and his worship of certain peoples hindquarters but it does tend to be his style of interviewing doesn't it. |

I'm going to be completely diplomatic here and not mention anything about hands being stuck up orrifices. Crennan, looking at it from a strictly promotion/sales perspective, is more likely to sell cars to people of Mark Skaife/Jason Bright's age, rather than say Peter Brock's age. There, I did it

No - I think you are wrong there. He is more likely to sell performance cars to people of Brights age (being in his 20's) than Skaifes (30's) and as usual totally forgetting about the 40+ age brackets who are more and more buying the Japanese equivalents because of the extras the Australian cars don't give you.
There - I can be diplomatic as well |

Actually I quite enjoy V8 Superstars and was in the audience for the 2nd show they did last year. Got my ugly mug on the tele too ! I always try to get in the audience but haven't had any luck since.

I've been to all the V8 Superstars this year and most of last year's. And I enjoyed all of them. Stop taking them so seriously.
As for selling the cars, you need the money first |
