More seriously though, if this did come to pass, don't you think it likely that the team would have Russian drivers - that Vitaly Petrov kid that Jordan were supposedly interested in, and Minardi tester Sergey *cough*street-race*cough* Zlobin?

Chelsea aren't packed with Russian players, Abramovich just wants to win at any cost.

Well, Eddie Jordan does have a point if he states that he is more entitled than anyone else (except Ferrari) to Michael's services. He wasn't treated fairly back in 1991. I mean, a forced trade with Roberto Moreno? Moreno is a nice guy, but c'mon

The insider continued that once Abramovich has bought Jordan Grand Prix, he will buy the 'best cars,' the 'best technicians,' and the 'best drivers.'
Abramovich has already outlaid a reputed $450 on the Chelsea FC. He added: 'Money is no object.' http://www.f1central.net/news/107328...3e98b346c5c59f |

I was all ready to believe this rumour and then it was printed in that bastion of bullsh1t the sun.... $270 million for Jordan?
But it really could happen and EJ would get to run it for a couple of years a'la Ken Bates. But please god not another Pollock team built around JV, we've been there before. |

There's ZERO chance eddie will get 2 hundred and whatever Mill for his team...
And just because the potential new owner has more money than you could poke a tapeworm starved model at,don't mean a thing ...remember all the money paul stodart has?He mad the same kind of promises and did NUTHIN with his own money |

It's not the possessions which are neccessarily the team's biggest asset. In reality the place on the grid and existing contacts are more important to someone as mega-rich as Roman. I'm sure he's confident taht he can invest as much as the biggest car constructors, at least in the short term, and gain decent resutls, especially if a customer BMW/Mercedes engine deal can be sorted for 2005.
Jacques would be a reasonable guess as to the lead driver - it's quite possible that discussions are going on behind the scenes. It'd be nice if the second drive went to a gifted yougnster like Justin, but Heidfeld would be okay as well. |

270 mil for Jordan? JV behind the wheel?
None of this makes sense, I'll fly the BS flag on this one. |

$270m is possibly a fair price, for a debt and equity partner free business... EJ would have racked up a few costs and partners over the years

Stodrat has like 57 F1 cars and bought many engines and lots of stuff from Arrows for a bargain, yet cries at the FIA doors for more money and in the meantime invited the whole paddock for a drinking bash aboard one of his multimillion pound 747's while jos verstappen dropped out of yet another GP because stodrat did not wanna replace the waaaaaayy worn out exhaust system. I dont think eddie jordan will get 270 million dollar for his team. With all buildings and contracts i put it at 70 or maybe 80 and then i think eddie should thank the lord bigtime. Aside of that BAR and their 500 million pounds showed you cannot just buy your way into F1 like perhaps you could assemble a multimillion pound footy team and make it work. Watford anyone? Paul Stoddart isn't anywhere near being in the same league as Abramovic. I think the way Abramovic does business is way above how PS conducts himself.
