Interview with Bobby Rahal
Just got my March issue of Car & Driver. It has a good article with Bobby Rahal and his perspective on splitting his efforts between CART and the IRL.
He doesn't have any bad things to say about either series and says it like it is....Gigante/Office Depot wanted to stay in CART and Shell wanted to go to the IRL. He has good comments about Chris Pook and some neutral points on Heitzler. Not sure if you guys in Canada/Europe/Oz get this magazine, but if you do....it's worth the few bucks to buy. |

I don't know what to think of Rahal lately, maybe the article will allow me to have a different opinion. It just seems wierd that the former CEO of CART would run a team in the IRL. Why does he care if Shell wants him to run in the IRL, he doesn't have to have their sponsorship on his car.
I only got my Feb edition of C&D last week. For some reason it takes forever to get here even though the newstands have it. We did have a problem with magazines disappearing and showing up 6 months late, maybe the mailman reads them first. |

My take on Rahal and Shell in the IRL is that by staying with them over there, when Cart builds up again and Shell want to come back over they'll be back with Rahal in Cart. If Rahal just dumped them then when Shell wants to come back they'll remember that and go with another team.

Snrub, you're right. I typed Shell...it was actually Miller. The article is in the issue with the new Mitsubishi Evolution and the 2005 Mustang on the front cover.
